He's not Friedman but i think he's got some connections.
He goes on the NHL Network FFS. It's not like he's Eklund of something.

I really don't get the hate for insiders here.
It's like people expect them to predict the future before even GMs know whether they can pull off a trade or not.

I got no problem with insiders, he's not one.

He just sees rumors from other people and then makes guesses trying to pass it off as if he's heard something.

He's a fraud because he isn't an insider to any team, not because what he reports is sometimes correct, sometimes incorrect.

Maybe that's what he does. You seem sure of yourself so i'll take your word for it.

My comment about insiders was more a general one, not just about Pagnotta.

I'd trade Newhook at this TDL or on draft day and sign Ehlers this summer.

What does Ehlers get as a UFA this July? $8M x7 ?

If Savard wants to come back on a short term, low salary (2M$) contract I would be open to it but I would favour a younger guy who can step in as the occasional 2nd pair guy if needed.

Yup but if Savard comes back, it should be a bottom pairing role where he can mentor someone. Playing him in a top 4D role is a reach at this stage of his career.

If we see something big happen in Montreal, it will probably be trading players to get additional assets. They [the Canadiens] will then use those assets to create a package with draft picks to get their hands on an NHL-caliber player." - David Pagnotta
The following rumors are especially designed for you, since you love rumors. :sarcasm:

Listening to BPM this morning they mentioned Seravalli reporting that Ehlers is interested in the Habs. Don’t know if he’s asked for a trade.

Button is saying the Habs are targeting Dylan Cozens.

Enjoy for shits and giggles, we already know a lot of these rumors don’t pan out. 💀

No more reclamation projects please. We have enough assets to make a move for a proven player once the time comes. And that time is coming soon I feel. A lot of teams/GMs in the league might feel the pressure to make moves this upcoming TDL/Offseason.

yup
time to get a stud centre

I’m proud of him.

Everybody knows it’s not easy to go through certain things and what he went through could have happened to anybody.

I love that guy.

I still talk to him.

To see him play in Montreal now is going to be really cool for him. It’s a hockey city.

He loves hockey.

I think he’s going to do well there.” - Nikolaj Ehlers, on his friend Patrik Laine

Via trade, not sure who the get. Maybe easiest way, sell off the vets now, play Pri more and go for Hagens or Misa.

They haven’t had a solid C core that I can remember since the Serge Savard days. Man I miss Damphousse, Muller, Carbo, Skrudland. That group had it all.

Not really … they simply got lucky they didn’t have to face Oilers in 86 or Bruins or Pens in 93

Other than Naslund in 86, no Hab has been better than top-24 in scoring since the end of Lafleur’s run

Top end offense wrt to the league has been an issue for the Habs since the end of the 70s dynasty run .. except for 86 anomaly… this isn’t a recent phenomena

Cup lucky, yes got the breaks of Oilers and Pens. Not talking about the cup, just the quality of the centres. The group had skill, grit, character, competitiveness. It was a very good C group.

That year Damp had had 97, Muller 94, Lebeau (forgot him) 80 pts, Carbo 23 pts, then you had Dipetro, and Skrudland at various times.

Where there’s smoke there’s fire. Too much noise coming out of Vancouver about Elias Pettersson. He must available for the price, but the right price for them is a hockey trade, not picks+prospects which is all we can really offer.

Damphousse’s 97 put him 24h OA in scoring, everyone in top 15 had over 110pts to put in perspective …

Ehlers really is a gentleman. Ever since he protected Evans in the scrum following Scheifele’s dirty hit, I have a soft spot for him!

Completely disagree - Dennis Bernstein (part of Pagnotta’s Fourth Period crew) has strong contacts supplying him info on LAK

It’s why Pagnotta was so far ahead on PLD rumors to LAK
Bernstein isn't Pagnotta, so you agree with the statement? It's not because Renaud Lavoie has contacts with the Habs, that suddenly Lalime becomes an insider. There's some missteps between individuals which can result in incorrect rumors and slander seeping out of a reporting crew. This is mostly why folks refer to Pagnotta as a fraud. IIRC Eklund was practically on the same level, supposedly having contacts who had contacts right?

Insiders are fun and I'm tired of Friedman being the NHL's mouthpiece. Some diversity of voices brings some pepper and spice to the mix.

Look at how much some hang on Grant McCagg's every burp and fart. It's part of our pathetic low-quality media ecosystem, it's borderline charming.
