Frank later adds: "Since we've been talking, further update... the Blue Jackets are still going through the evaluation process. I think they've got 5 to 6 credible offers on the table that they're working through. Should happen in the next 24 to 48 hours."

Sounds like BS or Ottawa is doing something stupid.

I like him but 8M$ for a 2C is a lot
Yeah, but for a mill at this point and in another reason, or two it will be fair.

Too much money. Too many injuries.
The shoulder injuries are why I say no, but it's intriguing as he could be a cheap get.

Could be.

And those shoulders are why

And given the Habs history with injury you know he's f***ing up a shoulder carrying his bag to the taxi.

Yeah could be, I wouldn't be toooo worried about it, but his injury history his also worrysome.

Or maybe we galaxy brain this and use his injuries to Tampa/Vegas load our team for the playoffs

I'm really curious to see what type of return he fetches, if traded.

Dach for Olivier and Jiricek, lol
I’d do that if Olivier signed long term.

He is not lazy. He is tentative because he is afraid to get hurt as posters keep posting. the question is will he get over the fear of injury.
Plenty of times he has coasted back on the back check, doesn’t battle along the boards, looks disinterested. etc. He is lazy and soft.

Being afraid to get hurt doesn’t stop someone from giving it all on the back check.

If it's a prospect for prospect swap for Jiricek, I could actually see Mailloux + being somewhat realistic. Timmins is the guy who put his neck on the line to draft Mailloux and he seems to have an important position in Columbus. Or maybe he has PTSD and wants nothing to do with him. :sarcasm:
While I prefer Jiricek, it’s a tough sell to the fanbase when Mailloux is currently performing better than him.

Performing better in terms of production? Yes, but Mailloux struggles a lot defensively in the AHL. Jiricek has looked significantly better defensively. Hell Jiricek handled a men's league better defensively than Mailloux handled a junior league defensively.

I didn't know that he gets 8M, missing capfriendly, how the f*** did he mange that, he must have one heck of an agent or he really took off in the NHL and I just somehow missed it (I do not watch or follow the NHL much at all so it is possible)

I have brought up the Jackets and Timmins but I don't know about Mailloux, if you go back to right after the draft, when they interviewed Timmins he looked pissed and when they asked him why they drafted him due to his legal issues, Timmins didn't have an answer. I would have to go back and see it as my memory could be off but I recall at the time thinking it was a bad look for the organization.

Struble is a guy I could see Timmins pushing for but after getting Harris, I guess they don't need him.

His last ELC season he had 35 goals, 55 points in 66 games.

They gambled he would eventually build on it and stay healthy, but neither has happened yet.
