Just saw online that Sens are looking at making trades and one name they're looking to move is Josh Norris.

I think he would be a great 2C. However, he's injury prone, and we don't need more of that, especially as a 2C.

But he produces. He's played 4 years in the NHL, although it's more like 3 years as one of those years, he missed almost the entire year (only played 8 games). And even those 3 years, he didn't play a full season.

2020-21 (rookie year): 35 pts (17G, 18A) in 56 GP
2021-22: 55 pts (35G, 20A) in 66 GP
2022-23 missed all year. Only played 8 games (3 pts)
2023-24: 30 pts (16G, 14A) in 50 GP

This year, he has 14 pts (8G, 6A) in 21 GP. He's on pace for 54 pts (31G, 23A) in 82 GP

He's not a big body, but he's not small (6'1" and 198 lbs).
He's 2nd on the sens for hits and he's at 55% on the dot.

I didn't even bother to look at the contract. That's a lot for what we'd use as a 2C.
It's funny reading reactions from a lot of fans from other teams who had/have no clue that Josh Norris signed that contract a couple of years ago lol.

Seeing it all over twitter too lol it's like no one cares about what happens in that organization

Would you trade Dach for Zegras ?
Yes, only if plan is to play Zegras w Slaf + Laine AND there’s a plan to install a winger w size alongside Suzuki / Caufield

Not sure how HuGo will address the latter condition winger w size - unless they believe Heineman can grow into that role…. might be too early at present

No one cares
We need a second-line center, just a decent one, not top 10 in that category by any means. Some of you roster wizards help an old guy out here. We have the assets and picks to complete it, so let's make it happen.

I am tired of watching Dvorak, Evans, and the AHL guy trying to play roles above their talent level. We need some help because wins are important for the development of our young players.

If the shoulder(s) hold up that's not bad for a 2nd line centre giving how things will be going.

However, the unknown cost coupled with the shoulder issues is what would keep me from going hell yeah, brother, let's get him.

This!
Short term, Dach should be put back at C for a final test, but at the same time, KH should be focusing his search on a 2C that can help for the next 2 seasons until Hage or our 2025 1st can step in.

He also need to rebalance the D and get a mix of skill that complement as opposed to what we have right now, but that is less urgent.

The Sens would probably not trade Norris to us .With that contract and injury history he could be had for a bargain basement price i would think .They would have to take salary back

7 something millions to top 6 player wont be that big of a problem sooner than later. Once the cap reaches 100 millions you'll be able to have 10 of those contract (6 forwards, 3 dmen and 1 goalie) and still have 25ish millions to complete your lineup. With Arizona moved to Utah i expect the cap to steadily increase over the next 3-4 years and be around 95 millions.

According to Cole Shelton of Heavy, Kent Hughes could seriously consider contacting Anaheim Ducks general manager Pat Verbeek to propose a trade that would send Kirby Dach to California in exchange for Trevor Zegras.

IN MONTREAL:
- Trevor Zegras (salary of 5.75 million until 2025-2026)

IN ANAHEIM:
- Kirby Dach (salary of 3.362 million until 2025-2026)

Sounds like a BS website that just reads here and posts articles to draw people from here to read what is already posted here.

We could probably offer the most competitive package out of those teams. I doubt Columbus is getting a player who was a recent top draft pick.

No Don, Farrell, Kidney and a 2nd is an amazing package for Jiricek!
I didn't lie to you about Lindstrom being a better pick than Demidov and I wouldn't lie to you about this.

- Kent (probably)

The Jiricek stuff makes me laugh. He's the exact type of player that requires the patience some are unwilling to give to Dach, Slaf, Newhook, Barron, Reinbacher.

Yup.

And the loudest posters about getting him would be the loudest complainers once he got here and took time to develop....
