I wonder what if management has a trade in mind. On one hand, another high pick would be very helpful long term, but on the other hand, the way they're playing is very concerning. They a stabilizing presence both up front and in defense. Monahan and Savard did that last year. Savard's game has gone down the drain though. It's too bad Trouba would never waive to come here because I find he'd be able to do that job.

Trouba and Kreider are exactly the dirt bag type players Habs need in their lineup. Too bad they'd never waive to come here and Gorton and Rangers org have a terrible relationship.

To CBJ: Dach + Reinbacher .... patch it up
To MTL: Jiricek + Lindstrom .... or patch this one up

I'm off by what on which side?

The Lindstrom back injury is nothing to laugh at. For it to be effecting him this much at such a young age would give me major pause for his long term well being. It’s the type of injury that’s not fixable, but more manageable until it can’t be managed anymore and likely lead to an earlier retirement or LTIR.

As much as I like him and wish him the best, I wouldn’t he inclined to trade any top tier assests for him.

Columbus isn’t trading lindstrom who they just drafted, not happening dude. Each has no value! The d prospect isn’t something Columbus need. In what world do you think the 3rd or 4th pick in this past draft class is getting traded?

Instead of rebalancing the proposal I will simply add this:

The reasons why CBJ liked Jiricek and Lindstrom (and liked them more than other prospects they could’ve picked!) haven’t changed. To entice them to give those sorts of prospects up requires a partner to offer even more attractive players/assets/cap benefits.

To get both of them from CBJ would require Demidov+Reinbacher+… and we don’t even want those two prospects so badly. It’s a total no go.

Maybe his familiarity with Gorton could help.

In a world where he may never play a single NHL game in his career.

People would be pissed at trading Roy for Jiricek??? Really?
Yes.

not everyone of course but some won't even look at Jiriceks potential, they will just lose it that The Habs traded a French kid.

Wasnt Trouba rejecting trades in off season while his wife is doing her medical residency in NY?
Yes,

It won't happen, I doubt he waves for anywhere. I am just saying I would want him but not Kreider.

Pissed at losing Roy for Jiricek?
I do that trade every day and twice on Sunday.
by trading him twice on Sunday do you mean you trade Roy/Jiricek then re-trade Jiricek/Roy, why trade him twice on Sunday then, just to piss is his cornflakes, seems odd lol ;):D

You have ZERO clue if that is true.
I don't need to know. He is gone for the season I believe. He may recover from them but I wouldn't take the chance.

A bad pick? I like how people overreact to health issues by prospect
I was glad he was gone before the Habs pick. I was leery of him before he had a procedure that will have him out long term.

Back issues, or not, you're not trading a 6'4, power forward prospect you just drafted 4th overall almost 5 months ago.

That's just silly.

I'd like me some Jiricek, but I don't see the prospect/young player they'd want that we can part with.

Hage, I'd think they'd love, but such a touching story about his parents AND he's crushing it on a team that isn't very good simply based on other prospects on the team.

Demidov, they'd love that but that's a hell to the no.

Roy can't see them being interested and even though he's been progressing well, he's a local talent and has the talent to be a good NHLer, just needs the effort. Plus a 5th round pick for a 6th overall pick isn't the best optics, so that's a pass on their part.

Slafkovsky - just need him to get an effort back, or just sit with what's probably an injury, so that's a no from us.

Newhook would be awesome to punt his ass the f*** out of here.

Dach isn't quite to the point that Newhook is for me, but he's not worth close to Jiricek.

Reinbacher/Mailloux - Habs need both AND to add to them with Jiricek because of piss poor drafting. Maybe not piss poor, but this prospect pool is overrated. There I said it... again.

A guy like Callum Ritchie might be of interest. Oh that's right we traded that pick for f***ing Newhook.

The best the Habs might be able to do is Calgary's conditional 1st, Konyushkov? Sam Harris ?

f*** this prospect pool is weak.

Not disagreeing with your assessment of our prospects value vs Jiricek, but we did not trade the Ritchie pick.

We traded the 31st that ended up being Gulyayev, Ritchie was 27 so he would not have made it anyway. We could argue a trade up like this year to nab him Musty or Perreault could’ve been better though (had Ritchie 12 so would’ve preferred him)
