I wonder what if management has a trade in mind. On one hand, another high pick would be very helpful long term, but on the other hand, the way they're playing is very concerning. They a stabilizing presence both up front and in defense. Monahan and Savard did that last year. Savard's game has gone down the drain though. It's too bad Trouba would never waive to come here because I find he'd be able to do that job.

Trouba and Kreider are exactly the dirt bag type players Habs need in their lineup. Too bad they'd never waive to come here and Gorton and Rangers org have a terrible relationship.

To CBJ: Dach + Reinbacher .... patch it up
To MTL: Jiricek + Lindstrom .... or patch this one up

I'm off by what on which side?

The Lindstrom back injury is nothing to laugh at. For it to be effecting him this much at such a young age would give me major pause for his long term well being. It’s the type of injury that’s not fixable, but more manageable until it can’t be managed anymore and likely lead to an earlier retirement or LTIR.

As much as I like him and wish him the best, I wouldn’t he inclined to trade any top tier assests for him.

Columbus isn’t trading lindstrom who they just drafted, not happening dude. Each has no value! The d prospect isn’t something Columbus need. In what world do you think the 3rd or 4th pick in this past draft class is getting traded?

Instead of rebalancing the proposal I will simply add this:

The reasons why CBJ liked Jiricek and Lindstrom (and liked them more than other prospects they could’ve picked!) haven’t changed. To entice them to give those sorts of prospects up requires a partner to offer even more attractive players/assets/cap benefits.

To get both of them from CBJ would require Demidov+Reinbacher+… and we don’t even want those two prospects so badly. It’s a total no go.

Maybe his familiarity with Gorton could help.

In a world where he may never play a single NHL game in his career.

People would be pissed at trading Roy for Jiricek??? Really?
Yes.

not everyone of course but some won't even look at Jiriceks potential, they will just lose it that The Habs traded a French kid.

Wasnt Trouba rejecting trades in off season while his wife is doing her medical residency in NY?
Yes,

It won't happen, I doubt he waves for anywhere. I am just saying I would want him but not Kreider.
