I, as well would suggest a pass on Laine.

Somewhat injured, seems to care randomly and not consistently.

If would merge Gallagher into Laine and it was just Laine with Gallagher's effort, then I'd be interested.

Or if the Habs can ship Gallagher off for him I'd be interested.

Laine is still only 25 years old. Feels like he's been around forever.

For me, if a guy is still not motivated to play every night after 9 nhl seasons, he's unlikely to ever put it all together.
I was a fan of Laine and saw huge untapped potential for the first few years, but I agree we're past "Untapped" at this point. He is what his track record says he is.

Healthy, Monahan is almost as good as Lindholm. The latter is a bit more solid defensively but other than that, it's a wash.

Friedman - Monahan isn't likely to get a 1st unless the team acquiring him want to extend him, or there's a real rush for him.

Says Monahan is really well respected around the league for his determination.

Adds how high can you play Monahan on a contending team. Doesn't think he's a 2nd line centre on a contending name.

Vancouver is looking at Lindholm, or Henrique, guys who can move around the lineup. If you're looking for a 3rd line centre, he's your guy (Monahan).

Marek doesn't really think it, but did say if they do get one, they get one for taking him and one for letting him go.

I think Monahan is gonna be traded but in a package with a dman for a prospect and a later pick.

I read that Monahan isn't worth a first and that Allen isn't worth a second -- it may in fact be that contending GMs overvalue their draft picks and aren't trying to win.

In a package is very plausible, but I'd think we want more than prospects at this point. We have a lot of them already in the system. We get more RW for instance and that's goodbye Ylonen imho.

To be very honest, as a GM of any team around the league, even as a team that desperately needs goaltending, I wouldn't trade a 2nd either!

Monahan I do think returns a 1st, especially if he keeps this up. His value is going up and Lindholm is the ones GM's will be careful with

Monahan's return in a trade is very dependent on the supply and demand. He can land a 1st+ or just a 2nd....

Allen's value in not good so a 2nd is asking much here. There are a bunch a G available, he's sign for an extra yrs to a meh contract. I woulnd be surprise if we get a UFA C and a mid-pick un return.

Lets say Monahan + Harris for Mavrik Bourque. He’s a prospect that can play right away or close to it. That’s the kind of prospect i see them targeting.

Then I'd trade Owen Beck. The ice time is limited everywhere. Heineman also could be dropped if we're just signing forwards blindly.

Washington needs a centre. They’re still going for it. I’d start a package for Leonard with Monahan, maybe Calgary’s 1st and one of our LD.
