In an interview with Seravalli, Chris MacFarlane (avs gm) says his ideal/comfort level for Georgiev would be around 55 games. He's on pace for 68, ao they likely trade for a goalie sooner rather than later

Their backup goalie (Pavel Francouz) is done for the year and is UFA at the end of the season. Allen could be a fit. Same situation with LA and Pheonix Copley.

Just for shits and giggles (aka kiaks), further to Hughes’ recent presser, BPM floated the idea of targeting these 4 players aged 22 or younger, who they claim, could use a change of scenery:

Add Zegras to the mix and who do you think is a more likely realistic target (in order) among:

Lundell, Holtz, Kakko, Podkolzin, Zegras?

In a second list, how would you rank them if they were all equally available?

I would also put Dorofeyev and L'Heureux in there.

7 Jets guys at the Habs/Devils game tonight seems a little excessive!

When has a trade happened in recent history where in-person scouting led to a trade between the team watching and the team playing?
Who knows? I have no idea what team is scouting which team in any given night and what information they gather gets disseminated and used by their GM to execute a trade.

I do know they have pro scouts for a reason and they’re used to scout in advance as well as ascertain players worth when deciding a trades.

So it probably happens more often then you think, but we just don’t know what we don’t know.

at the same time, we no longer play the Jets this season and the Devils play them next on March 21st, so there's has to be an important reason for that many Jets employees to be present.

Eh, maybe. But the amount of times we've seen a ton of scouts at a game and claimed that it was guaranteed a big trade would happen and nothing happened is quite often.

I think it's the first time in a long time there will be a bidding war for Habs player at the deadline. Monohan for sure, but if Armia continues playing like this, lots of team should be very interested.

Adding Savard and Allen that will most likely be on the way out as well, Hughes should be able to get a pretty good haul this TDL.

If we get a first for Monahan, we’re gonna have 4 first round pick in the next 2 draft. One or two of those are gonna be traded. Even Hughes said he could see a package of picks of help on offence.

If we pick 10+ this year, i suspect this pick is gonna be throw around. Something along:

First pick
Prospect ala Mesar
One of our dman

Who we gonna get? That’s the question.

This scout is here that scout is there. HOW INCREDIBLE.
Gee I wonder when TDL is and what Pro scouts are paid to do.
So if the seven recommend picking up a dog do they all get the axe? :sarcasm:

Most fans on the Maim Board or on Twitter, are prospects/ draft pick obsessed, so naturally they don’t value deadline acquisitions by contending teams.
Lucky for teams like us, GM’s don’t share the same mentality at the TDL. Competing teams navigate in a way at times that would make you wonder if everyone in their pro scouting staff just downed a 26 of Jack Daniels.

Savard will not removed this trade deadline -- and that's a smart move, IMO.

If Armia plays like like he has recently, until the trade deadline, there will definitely be interest from Cup contenders because of his puck possession game and his ability to kill penalties.

We only have one Cap retention spot left open, though, and that will be a choice between using it on Armia or Allen at this trade deadline.

I'd rather keep Armia than Allen until the end of the season.

Allen leaving will help Primeau's development just from addition by subtraction with more playing time the NHL.

Next year, the two retention spots that we will have back can be used on Dvorak and Savard.

Hopefully, Armia can be traded at full salary during this offseason after a strong finish to the season.

I just talked to my sources and turns out all those Jets scouts were just there for a bachelor party…started the night there and are now currently at Starbutts adult dance club.

I can’t recall ever seeing that many scouts from one team viewing a game. Maybe it’s one elaborate smokescreen.
