Well they got owned by the Habs when Chandler Stephenson was their top centre. I don’t think they want to go down that road again.

I will say if the Panthers do end up trading for Tkachuk (they are on his list of desirable destinations), then the FLA 1st can definitely be in play after.
I mean no forward besides Roy showed up against us.

Please no PLD, he strikes me as more than a bit of a prima donna. Not happy here, not happy there, just play the damn game and earn your money. When you are a free agent you can go where your heart desires, until then shut up and play.
I don't think he's said anything has he?

I worry about a player that has demanded his way out of 2 different cities before he is 25
It's less concerning when you consider he's been in 2 of the most polarizing cities in the league and one where he played for one of the most divisive coaches in the recent history of the league who singled him out on more than one occasion at a young age and another team that has frequently been rumoured to have an incredibly toxic locker room

People can say i'm making excuses for the guy but these are legitimate grievances a player might have and if he has the power to get out of that situation why wouldn't he want to

Eh. For all intents and purposes, he is demanding his way out. He's not saying he's going to hit UFA to be help them out. He's saying it to get them to trade him to Montreal.
He never actually said he wants out now, he told them he's not signing for more than 2 years. He's also not the one that came out publicly with this.

Oh wow, 90 women found a way to exploit regular working people as well as other men have. That’s so great.
I wonder how many of them became billionaires when their billionaire daddy died (e.g Jeannie Buss) or their hubby who was 40 years older than them died.

Brisson is a clever negotiator, and he likes to use social medias to put pressure on GMs. It's all part of a plan to sign a better contract. There is nothing to feed the media right now, so they are eating in his hand.

For all that matters, PLD and his agent are probably pulling a 'confession' like in law abiding citizen. 'Would I like to play in Montreal? of course I would'. 'Did I asked for a trade? of course not'...
PLD seems to be pulling this stint, every where he goes....or his agent is............anyhow, let's see where it all goes.
The habs do quite often get used to up the anti so to speak........

I’ll take Our Canadian problems every day of the week over what’s happening in the US
Especially the last 6 years

He doesn’t want to get his hopes high is my opinion

Yeah, no doubt. We have our tin foil bar shit crazies but not to the same extent. In America, women in many red neck states are second class citizens.

How so?

No country has the rate of women executives & entrepreneurs as the US, nor the rate of millionaires/ billionaire women as US does

Haha, old white guys dictating their reproductive health/rights. Shit, now the nutbars want to make it illegal for women to leave the state for medical care, that’s HOW!

It’s ok to walk into a store with a AR-15 but women can’t control their own body or travel freely.

Did you ever see the infamous shift where he basically quit on the BlueJackets mid-game? Inexcusable. He should have paid back salary dollars. But yes…blame Torts.

Amazing that there are players on every team who don’t see eye to eye with their coach but still don’t quit on the team.

1st pick FLO 2023.

2nd pick COL 2024.

This rebuild looks very very good so far. Great work by Hughes and Gorton (both help each other).
Nearly all of what we got back depends on how well the Habs new player development operations will work. A lot of betting that they can help or reclaim stalled careers.

Once we see how well that works this year then we can better evaluate how well these mostly “buy low” trades Turn out

If Caufield's agent next summer said something to the effect of "He'd really love playing in X American market", I'd be pissed.

I wish Dubois had just kept his mouth shut and waited until UFA if he really wanted to go.
Montreal/Toronto/Vancouver ≠ Calgary/Winnipeg/Ottawa/Edmonton

Caufield also loves playing here, he’s the last guy I see requesting out.

Are you serious ?

What would be the best way for a young player to get out of a market without saying anything ?

The answer: I won't sign a deal including UFA years. As soon as I can get out, I will.

You need to be extremely foolish if a young promizing player do this and not come to the conclusion that he wants out.

Not him going public is actually a good sign. If he did it, it would make his team in a worse position.

Petry never came out publicly. It was still obvious he wanted out. And it's fine.

If the citizens in the state don’t want certain policies they can cast a vote to elect officials who will pass policies that match their views - as in northeast & west coast.

It’s not “old white guys”, the majority of the population in these red states support these policies.. that’s the reality at present.

But even the US south is demographically changing and wouldn’t be shocking if these policies are overturned in time

America is a dumpster fire right now and it is the christofascist old white guys at the front leading the charge.

Enough about politics, moving on.

Caufield and PLD have the same agent 🫢

It will be interesting to see if Caufield tries to break the bank or sign a reasonable contract aligned with Suzuki.

He’s no dummy, clearly on paper a winger like Slaf will be perfect for him, coaching under MSL, etc. It would be nice to see him demonstrate a willingness to be part of a core for many years.

“I really want to be drafted by MTL”
Drafted by the Columbus WhoGivesAShits
“I really want to be traded to MTL”
Traded to Winterpeg
“I’m not re-signing past 2 years as I‘d love to play for MTL”

The last team that should worry is MTL

All perspective - my wife & I miss aspects of Mtl very much, but know full well we’d never have lived as comfortable a life north of the border.

We go back and witness the mediocre healthcare our parents get in Mtl, or the lack of services for the taxes paid … there’s trade offs.
