I agree D are important. Lidstrom is my favorite all time player. But even if we somehow traded seider for bedard we would still have an awesome top D pairing of edvinsson- ASP along with wallinder, wallman and Johansson. So our D would be still very good and again we would now have bedard.

Well to be fair those are nothing but magic beans at the moment..and I personally doubt the DRW have 3 top pairing dmen(seider, SE and ASP) in the organization with three more (walman, Wallinder, johansson) second pairing guys..

That would be unheard of unless of course they were just names on a lineup card vs actual high end NHL players at those spots..

I certainly am hoping but that's all it is..hope..for now

i concede, I have no idea what my handshake agreement was. If it was a handshake then I'm bound to honor it, but going to need a bit of a hint :-/
was on the main boards and a guy from calgary agreed to this, essentially

Det:
Hanifin w/ extension
Markstrom

Cgy:
Kasper
Maata
2nd
Rasmussen

Honestly, I'd take that deal, it may be a small overpayment by adding ras at the end, but I just don't think he will increase his output that he has already given. Feels like we see and know who he is already. I did just see someone say he is quietly averaging 20 goals this year right now (season high) with no PP time, but still. That gives room for berggren to come up, edvinsson to come up, have a pretty good goalie and LD coming back as well.

Kasper would be the hard pill to swallow, but this is all funzies anyways. I like Kasper, a lot actually, but defense wins championships, what can i say.

hey how dare you. this was a sacred handshake deal that is bound by the laws of (whatever, insert something here)! This deal will obviously go through because it was a gentlemen's agreement and those are never to be trifled with!

and hey, you never know. Maybe those eyeballs are for us :sarcasm:

Wonder if Yzerman tries to make a Sergachev type deal. If Ottawas season is totally torpedoed I wonder if they’d consider shaking up their core ? Don’t think they’d ever trade Brady but I’d look to target him if possible

idk. brady has said rather religiously that he grew up hating detroit and still hates them now...might be a pretty tough sell. but it is crazy and I just realized he doesn't have any trade restrictions in his contract. wow.

edit: oh god, stutzle doesn't have it kick in for a few years either...................................

Really? Can you link to this about Brady? Haven’t seen that anywhere

it was in one of those videos that the sens send out to "get to know the players". I saw it on twitter like 2 months ago (i think it was before the sweden games). I really don't want to sit here and go through sens twitter :/

I think the question was something like who is your least favorite team growing up or something. He references his dad with st louis and central rivals, something along those lines. Could be wrong obviously but I specifically remember brady for some reason saying it.

According to Gretzky there have been about 3 dozen players better than him since he retired. Former player evaluations should be taken with a grain of salt.
With how much salt should we take comparisons between Bedard and Pronger? It's one of the weirdest comparisons I have ever seen, tbh

I wouldn't expect Ottawas new ownership and management to be willing to trade within division now. Think Debrincat was a one time thing.

Probably should look out west for trade potential.

i knew we could work well together norrisnick!....oh god, I am going back down that path from the @OgeeOgelthorpe @Oddbob conundrum...Jesus I keep getting into some stiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiicky situations around these parts. I kinda like it, keeps things spicy!

After watching that I think we can have a glimmer of hope that Tim Stutzle forces a trade out of Ottawa to Detroit since he's besties with Mo.
