I haven't heard anything. I was hoping the same, but it'd have to be super cheap as we don't have much space.

I don't agree, i think he is a very good 2nd line Winger the problem is his money demands are going to be inflated, on a decent deal he'd be a great fit.

I would agree that Oshie is a good 2nd liner. I just don't think that he's viewed around the league as a 2nd liner, and I don't think he will be payed like one in free agency.

Anyone saying Turris is better than Stepan at anything does not watch these two players play hockey. Only explanation.

Does your "anything" include skating and shooting? Because I would love to hear you try and tell anyone that Stepan is a better skater or has a better shot than Turris.

Turris and Stepan are comparable enough that I don't really have a problem with anybody that thinks Stepan is the better player, I would disagree but it wouldn't bother me. I guess I just need to watch more hockey:dunno:

Watched both at Wisconsin and off and on in the NHL. Turris is definitely more talented at scoring goals and is fairly comparable in every other area of his game. How much have you seen them play? Do tell.

Olofsson lost a year of development, no way is he ready. Folin cannot play LHD, nor do I want him to right now, nobody else would have a legit shot.

we cannot afford a Leo one way deal if Reilly makes the team cap-wise, no space. Leo can only be here now if Reilly is in the AHL.

I think that the Wild should offer Leopold a Training Camp invite (PTO). Reilly plays every pre-season game until either officially making the Wild or shows that he needs AHL time.

If Reilly plays well enough, then Reilly makes the Wild and Leopold is released and asked to stay ready in case injuries happen in season. If Reilly needs AHL time, then either extend Leopold's PTO or sign him at the end of camp.

If Reilly ready:

Suter-Dumba
Scandella-Spurgeon
Reilly-Brodin

Brodin acts as a "seasoned veteran" defensive defenseman to pair with the rookie (Reilly). (The only reason I have him as a 3rd pair D. But he would play 1D minutes by also spending time with Suter).

Brodin sometimes teamed with Suter as Suter will play more minutes than Dumba.

Prosser is the extra backing up both the left and right sides as the Wild can only have 1 extra because of the 3rd goalie issue.

If Reilly not ready and in the AHL:

Suter-Brodin
Scandella-Spurgeon
Leopold-Dumba

Prosser is the extra backing up both the left and right sides as the Wild can only have 1 extra because of the 3rd goalie issue.

Does anyone think we could trade for Nyquist, Jurco or Pulkkinen? All are RFAs for Detroit and could fill our 2nd-3rd line RW need. I think they need another RD so Spurgeon could be of interest to them.

I don't think we have a 2nd-3rd line RW need. We have Nino and Fontaine.

Nino is a long-term LWer. Fontaine could be a decent top 6 player but I think he's better suited for 3rd-4th line duties. I'd do a Pulkkinen+1st for Spurgeon trade or Spurgeon+ for Nyquist and then slot one of them in on the top two lines. Two-three years from now:

Parise-Granlund-Nyquist/Pominville
Zucker-Koivu-Coyle
Nino-Eriksson Ek-Pominville/Pulkkinen
Schroeder-Haula-Fontaine

Suter-Dumba
Scandella-Brodin
Reilly-Folin

Dubnyk
xxxx (Kuemper trade)

I think he is. As soon as Vanek leaves I'll bet he's on the left side and Coyle goes back to the right with Ek down the middle.

Nothing hurts a franchise more than trading limited tradeable assets for middle-6 wingers. Put together a legitimate package where you are giving up a player you normally wouldn't and pay for that top-6 center.

Depends on Tuch as well.
Very true along with Lucia and Greenway's development. I think all could be just about ready for a full time NHL gig at that point. It might keep Nino on the right side. Maybe if Pominville is still putting up numbers we could trade him to a contender for a 1st and run Nino-Coyle-Tuch-Fontaine on the right, Parise-Zucker-Lucia-Schroeder down the right, and Granlund-Koivu-Ek-Graovac down the middle.

Some Detroit fans are open to Spurgeon+ for Nyquist. He's put up 55 goals the past two seasons in 139 games (32 goal average in 82 game season). I proposed Spurgeon+2nd for Nyquist+6th. Maybe just simple it down to Spurgeon+3rd for Nyquist. I think the top 6 centers are set in Granlund and Koivu. The only part about the center group that bothers me is Coyle at 3rd line C because Haula couldn't handle it.

Another thing with Nyquist is he had 14 pp goals last year so he could go a long way towards helping our pp unit. One downside is he's like Nino in that he's a lefty playing the right side.

I would be very surprised if Lucia is an every day player in the NHL. I have never really been impressed with him.

Koivu should be a 3rd line center at this point. And I like Koivu and don't want the Wild to trade him.

Russo on Souhann had an interesting comment about the possibility of buying out Vanek this summer to make room for other moves. Also suggested that Vanek, Koivi, and maybe Pominville are unmovable.

He still puts up 2nd line center numbers so why does it matter? We could try and trade for NHL-ready C prospects (Drouin, Namestikov, Reinhart, etc) but then people complain about how they didn't make an impact last season so why should we trade NHL players for them.
