Isn't McGinn a left winger? Kings have enough of those. I'd rather they just play Mersch instead of trading away something for McGinn.
 
Stempniak would be ideal but pricey, could see Versteeg, as he has some playoff experience with the Hawks. Hartnell is rumored to be going back to Nashville.

Slim ****ing pickins.

I tend to agree. Now Purcell even gone. DL is tossing his bait into the water and seeing if he gets any bites. The fish aren't around today!!

D.L seems to either hit homers or drop the ball. The middle years a lot of homers were Hit, Sutter hiring, Richards, Carter, Gabby, Regehr, Mitchell

The drafting department has helped him doing wonders with Toffoli, Pearson, Kempe, King, Nolan, Schenn, Simmonds, etc, etc

Lately their has been a lot of bad, Browns contract, Greenes contract, Gaborik contract, handling of Richards, handling of Voynov combined with a lot of questiable gambles - Lucic (I love this guy), the trade for Sekera (expensive gamble for a team that wasn't worth taking the gamble), trading for Phillys waste in Vinny and Schenn ( slightly positive at this point but don't trust Schenn)


I am not gonna fault him for the small gambles like Errorhoff as I liked the signing as it was cheap and filled a possible need, the McNabb gamble may still work etc.

It just seems that if his last 2 years of work were his only two years of work, we probably wouldn't be as trusting in him. I feel the two cups has bought him some breathing room but I hope he gets his mojo back soon. I don't want to hear of band aid fixes. If he needs to make the decision to move a coveted prospect or two to land young stud who's contract won't kill us , do it. Just no more stupid gambles.

What was wrong with the handling of Richards/Voynov? What was he supposed to do?

DL is in "Go Big or Go Home" mode. Just like he should be. Playing it safe will get you nowhere. Just ask Doug Wilson.

Hard to know if this is a mistake...other sources state that the Oil nixed the deal, because they could not get a deal / commitment for him to come over. Maybe
the truth will come out...that would be cool, if the Kings are actually trying to get hm to come over. Few Russians under 21 have had the kind of numbers Porky has put up in the KHL.

Interesting to see 2 former Oils playing with him on his team: Omark and Hartikainen both played on the Oil.

That would be incredible. I just hope we can salvage any positive from that situation. I had hope for him. We just haven't been to lucky with our Russians lately.

The problem with the contracts for Brown and Gaborik were timing. Gaborik was a free agent few weeks after a great playoff performance, and Brown had 2012, and then had a good 2013 regular season.

Lombardi won't be perfect on everything. Tough to find a GM that is, especially one that has been around for a decade.

I don't know how it's glossed over. You can't wish it to be better. Since it would take quite a performance by the Kings and Coyotes/Canucks for the Kings to miss the playoffs at this point, it doesn't matter so much right now. Come the 1st round, and there's no Gaborik, it'll be a bigger deal.

Truth about the troubled Russians, with the Voynov situation, Porky staying over there, and now Zykov injured. Something better not happen to Dergs.

Dergachyov is apparently coming over after his season ends. I think he can go straight
to the Reign.

Trading for Scuds isn't going big its dumpster diving.The rumored Purcell and Schultz was again dumpster diving.Dean needs to take the gloves off and get us what we need to contend and not at it safe.I don't think this team as is can beat the Hawks or Caps.I hope i'm wrong on all accounts, but Dean has played it safe and went blue light special bargain diving.

DL is going for guys like Purcell, because he's reasonably priced. Would you be ok if we got a sexier name player and gave up a Kempe? Chances are asking price is too high for majority of players out there.

Richards should have been bought out but he used his heart instead of brain.

Voynov should not have been brought back to practise with any of the staff. It luckily only cost the team a fine, but thinking with his heart could have cost us more.

I might have not wrote what I was thinking quite clearly. I want DL to go big as well, but not on the UFA to be. Lucic and Sekera alone cost us 2 1sts, a big RH offensive Dman, Another two way prospect, and a young NHL ready starting goalie. I just think these prospects could have been better used on a Trouba, Brodin type to solidify our defence. On both cup runs we were built from the blueline out and I think we have gotten away from that.
 
I'm sure he tried to get an impact player but didn't want to part with Kempe and/or a 2017 1st. I think that's too much for any of the rentals that have been mentioned.
 
So, is DL going to dangle more than late picks and late pick prospects for whatever is left? Doesn't seem like it. I thought for sure someone like Forbort or Gravel was gone for sure. Or even Martinez. Could there still be a big time hockey trade left?
 
Other then trying to fill the roster with recycle bin stuff I am sure Lucic is gonna resign in the USD4-5 million range, because it would be akward to stand there July,1st without Lucic who was aquired with a solid overpayment deal.

He wanted to come over before, I'm hoping Prokhorkin will be here next year, since we have no cap space and he can pretty much fit in our lineup right away. The kid is talented , he might be just as good as Panarin. Dean needs cheap reinforcements, why not one of our own. Maybe they reached out to his club and theirs a chance once his contract is up he will come over. He will improve our team tremendously.
