Pre-Game Talk: Trade Deadline

I don't get why this is interesting? I am guessing that since its posted here its supposed to be some sort of trade indication?

Everything I have ever heard, players are about the last to know when they get traded... I wouldn't think him being at the training facility would have anything to do with anything but rehab?

Some polls need to be done. Schultz vs Scuderi... take one now, then after the first game they play, then one after 10 games... could be entertaining.

With all this misdirection no one has any clue what Lombardi is up to at this point.

Is Prokhorkin a good prospect for you guys?

I posted this in another thread:

We were really high on him at one point, the question was just if he would come over and stick. Said all the right things, came to the AHL for a handful of games, and went back. Doesn't seem to want time in the minors so I could see EDM trying him out this year. if you're going to get rid of Purcell/Schultz, that's a good pitch to swing at, as it also doesn't hurt the Kings but stands to potentially be a better prospect than anything else we could give back, if that makes sense.

Friedman is saying a holdup in the deal is that it he Oil want to see if they can get Porky to sign a contract this week and come over to North America.

Also, Hudler to Florida.

To be honest, I don't see Purcell coming back to LA. I think he goes back to Tampa.

We get Schultz for almost nothing and on to the next trade, maybe Wings?

But no clue what DL is up to. Just guessing.

Edit: **** it. We get Hartnell from CBJ too. Brown going the other way.

Well they got about 51 hours to figure out if Porky will come to North America. Don't think that's enough time to figure out what Porky's going to do.

Edit: Oh yeah, sneak Yak into the trade last second!

Rosen said he's about 90% sure Purcell will be here but hadn't heard anything about Jhultz. So there's that. Would be interesting to get JUST Teddy after all this speculation...

Hudler to FLA tells me they're out on Teddy so yeah.

Told Oilers/Kings have agreement in principle to send Purcell & Schultz to LA, but finalizing couple details. Could fall thru but sounds set

He's a major reason why they are one of the worst defenses in the league

Edmonton is a major reason why Edmonton is one of the worst defenses in the league.

Non-commital forwards and terrible defensive structure. You saw the stretches when the Kings owned the cycle the other night even when Schultz was out of the lineup, right?

Schultz has been terrible but I think the Kings basically have a roster tailor made to sheltering him.

Just play him on your bottom pairing and do *not* give him too much responsibility. If he can't make it work in LA, he can't make it work anywhere IMO.

Just what Edmonton needs, to throw another guy not ready for the NHL into their line-up. Porky can help drive the tank

Hudler for scraps. Guess Calgary didn't want him in the Pacific.

Looks like this a dumpster dive deadline. In dean I trust, I guess.

So would the lineup look like:

Lucic-Kopitar-Brown
King-Carter-Toffoli
Pearson-Lecavalier-Purcell
Clifford-Lewis-Nolan

McNabb-Doughty
Muzzin-Schultz
Martinez-Schenn
Scuderi

These 2nd round picks flowing like candy helps me understand why we're going after Purcell and Schultz with outside prospects.
