At least, according to TSN, TBL retained 50% of his salary, so it's only $1.25M for this season. We still have cap space for one more F I think

I know it’s underwhelming but he’s scored 17 and 16 goals 2 of his last 4 years
No one in our bottom six does that
Was he playing top 6 or bottom 6 with that? I haven't followed him in year.

Like his one big year with tbl he was riding with kucherov

Days not over but this has me steamed. For a team that supposedly prides itself in valuing picks - this is horrible assent management. Wasting a pick on a waiver worthy player. This is a lateral move at best while squandering a pick.

I expect we'll learn in the presser that, uh, er, ya know, the value wasn't there today and yeah, er, um, ya know, waffle waffle, this is a guy we think can help us right now, uhh, guys in the room, ya know.

I would still explore if there is a market for us to unload PLD for a Meier like return. Carolina hasn't done anything. Detroit has ammassed a lot of assets and probably don't intend to use them to draft players. Can they give us 2 1sts and a prospect for PLD? Yes we can trade him next season as well but this is a good draft and it is good to stagger picks if we are moving 26/55 next season.

Yup, grab a more offensive guy and maybe we can roll 3 scoring lines and a checking fourth when Perfetti comes back.

That's possible. I see he's listed as a C (or is this one of those players who is probably better on the wing? I haven't followed him closely)

I don't see this happening, but it does get me asking the question...

Is a player like PLD worth more at the trade deadline or in the summer?

I hope that was just our depth move we wanted to get done before doing something else...

'cause that is what the Jets were missing. Low scoring bottom 6 guys.

I mean he scored 15 points in 57 games from Tampas 4th line. That is better than any of our fourth lines.

The prior year when on Detroit's third line he put up 13 goals a s paced over 30 points. That is pretty decent third line production when you factor in his defense. I'm actually a bit happier after doing some research.
