So he wanted to come to NY back in 2009 as well. That shows that he's been set on the Rangers for a very long time. Its a shame that never worked out......He will be a Ranger, its just a matter of time. I have a feeling it will be in the offseason though.

Basically. Steve Y's hands are tied. Marty went to GM Brian Lawton (who was on the panel) back in 2009 and requested a trade to the Rangers. The panel agreed that Marty has put his work and time into the Lightning organization and Stevie Y should move him to the Rangers out of respect for what he's done for them. Theo Fleury saying how well the Rangers treat their players. And that he will end up as a Ranger but most likely in the offseason.

I agree. Cally is not worth that type of money period. I think 4 years $20 million is a fair price for the type of player he has been with his injury history. I hope Sather deals him sooner then later.

if Sather can pull off a trade for Pacioretty ill be happy as long as it does not involve Kreider or Miller... i would deal Hagelin in a deal for Pacioretty as much as i love Hagelin's speed, Pacioretty is a need on this team a LW that can score 25 + goals.

Saying that Callahan has "intangibles" can be like telling the buyers that the house is in a "great neighborhood." That's code for "this house isn't that good but there's plenty of great houses nearby!"

You don't overpay for intangibles.

i hope Sather does not do something stupid like keep him and let him walk at season end, and the other thing they could do resign him to a stupid contract. no more than 5 years with team option for a 6th. that is most id offer..

His wife is from Connecticut and he has a house there as well. He probably just wants to finish his career close to home.

His wife living 45 minutes from the city is a part of it. The more I hear about MSL wanting to play here the less I want to trade for him, if he is going to hold p and play into his 40's why not just wait and sign him next offseason.

Jack Johnson? James Wisniewski? Tyutin would be a great fit, but I doubt the Jackets move him.

Wonder what Columbus would get back for either of those two. I think both have good value.
