It definitely made the adjustment to working in Silicon Valley startups at the beginning of my career a lot easier, I can tell you!
Though I'll say that moving back to Pittsburgh where I can have actual work-life balance makes it so I don't have any desire to go back!
Yeah, I gave a talk back in Chicago a few months ago and I love the school and the students, but I am so glad I'm not in the meat grinder anymore.

So you’re telling me we are overdue.

I guess? Or I'm telling you that if you actually follow hockey, understand prospects, and understand how teams turn the corner, 2nd round picks are thrown around like candy for nothing burgers for a reason.

It's great that we were actually proactive for once during a deadline. But the process is still faulty.

You had a change to move Rakell. You didn't.

What happens next year if we are 4 points out of a playoff spot?

Do we think we can make it and not make a trade becuase of it?

I just don't like the logic. I also assume Dubas is bringing in a lot of these picks to move for players versus actually drafting.

Will be an interesting 6-8 months.

I think there are encourgaging things that could come out of it, but I still don't trust the full vision and mindset.

Selling players is the easy part.

It was definitely Guerin. I remember the dude nearly salivating as he wiped greasy sweat off his brow watching Bjorkvist do hip thrusts.

None of these guys are doing anything in a rebuild.

The 1st is likely mid in a bad draft.

This isn't the haul people think it is.

It's good work, but nothing Dubas has acquired outside of our 1st potentially this year is turning the page on this team.
Last year, Carolina had the 27th OV pick. Who picked from 27th until Brunicke is helping us turn the page if we got that 1st instead of the 2nd? Since you're so obsessed with 1sts...

LMFAOOOOOOOOO

God, why would you even say that...

Rantanen just dorked them over for the year. Almost kinda funny.

Its just funny to me, like this isn't going to make your fan base any more understanding, it'll actually piss them off even more

Having a 1st and a 2nd potentially gets us further up in the draft.

It's a small difference and you're accurate that we probably would've taking Brunicke anyway.

I like Brunicke. I don't think he's anywhere close to what Penguins fans are acting like he is.

I still think our best long term D prospect is Pickering.

The moves were the right ones. Credit to Dubas today.

Any hype should be......saved for draft day when we see these players in a Penguins jersey for the one and only time ever.

Yea man. All prospects are worthless, including former 2nd rounders. Should have traded Rakell for a, wait for it, motherf***ing 2nd rounder.

Just take deadline day off man it’s by far your worst day

Maybe Gyz is a part of a trade

What a nice lil consolation prize.
Does Carolina not have any Assistant GMs, or something?
Not sure you want your AGM negotiating a big deal like Rakell. If prices were Beauvillier for a 5th, then sure. But when you're talking 1sts and top prospects....that's tough.

I don't let my managers negotiate deals or contracts over a certain value.

lol. You and Sealbound are so funny and angry.

Weird how you act like I'm crazy when you two are legit wrong about everything every year.

But sure. Dubas acquiring a bunch of 2nd round picks is incredible work, A+, In Ray Shero We Trust. Can't believe we got Brassard. Man Hextall got Rakell for nothing giving away Simon and ZAR.

Incredible work.

I'm still laughing at Allvin saying some shit like "Buddy, if you only knew the kinda offers I had on the table for Boeser, you'd be sprayin' outta both ends."

So trade him. Your team's in a nose dive and you're gonna lose Boeser, then EP40's gonna demand a trade, and then Quinn Hughes after that.

I don't think it's the correct way to look at a slew middle round picks as just a slew of middle round picks. They could also be leverage for a trade up or similar to what the Penguins have already done this year with Tomasino.

Get enough of those, and you can make major moves. I think the Penguins have plenty of picks. Hopefully they can capitalize on a few with some big moves.
