but we really need that conditional 2nd for our best winger to really spark this rebuild

None of these guys are doing anything in a rebuild.

The 1st is likely mid in a bad draft.

This isn't the haul people think it is.

It's good work, but nothing Dubas has acquired outside of our 1st potentially this year is turning the page on this team.

Whatever, somebody clonk Sid's wrist with a shot from the point so he has to sit out the rest of the season so this team can go get that top 4 pick. And be way worse next year and the year after.

That's how you expedite the rebuild. Landing like, Misa, McKenna, and Dupont.

Yeah, I think the haul is good (not legendary or anything) but the issue is, that none of these things (picks or players) have decidedly panned out. Thus, it's always better IMO to get more picks and more prospects until one of them actually hits and you can start working around them.

And to have them make the transition to the NHL we're going to need an entirely different coaching staff, but we won't make that move until god knows when...

You can flip a few of them over the next few years for more picks.

Also I am glad some 18 yr olds aren’t part of a rebuild lol

The plan is....there is no plan.

Not moving Rakell seems like it will be rather regrettable. Four eyes did well with what he did trade today. This team is being ridiculous for not committing to the full rebuild. This team has more holes than swiss cheese and still has a lot of garbage vet players to get rid of. It's gotten progressively worse over the last three seasons. The prospects we do have are more complimentary pieces and we might get our first real building block prospect this offseason depending how we finish the year and how the lottery balls draw out. It's pass the point of repair of getting one big UFA and then trading high picks for youngish complimentary NHLers. We stink at all three levels of the game. Let's not pretend we are the Steelers by trying to stick a horseshoe up kindergarten's backside hoping to good enough to sneak into the playoffs. Stick a fork in it already....

Likewise. I'm glad I got my degrees, but holy hell, I am glad I don't have to work like that anymore. But you survive those schools and you can survive anywhere.
It definitely made the adjustment to working in Silicon Valley startups at the beginning of my career a lot easier, I can tell you!
Though I'll say that moving back to Pittsburgh where I can have actual work-life balance makes it so I don't have any desire to go back!

That's the one! Dude probably owns a Mustang and likes Coldyplay.

edit: Lol, I totally forgot that some idiot scout (probably Guerin TBH) thought he was 2nd round material.
It was definitely Guerin. I remember the dude nearly salivating as he wiped greasy sweat off his brow watching Bjorkvist do hip thrusts.
