Considering it seems like Rakell's most likely trade destination right now is LA and the Penguins are in Vegas, the Penguins could still trade Rakell and have a full skater lineup for today. Get a forward from LA, put them on a plane by like 2 PM PST and they should easily be ready for the game tonight at 7 PM PST.

Or just play 4 on 5 the whole game and tank correctly....

Yeah even if you can't get someone in time, who cares? The Penguins are at the bottom of the league. Playing with 11 F isn't that big of a deal.

That said, I'm still hoping for a return like:

-LA: Turcotte, Greentree and a 2nd
-Utah: Maccelli, Lamoureux and a 2nd

And both of those trades give the Penguins a winger they can slot into Rakell's spot.

We have a full 23-man roster. 22 now with Beauvillier gone. There is still room to deal both Grz and Acciari (as two examples) and still be able to play VGK with a full complement of players.

Then when the road trip is over, send down Bemstrom and Imama and call up Pickering, Ponomarev and Koivunen. And let's start doing this right.

I don't think this necessarily takes LA out of the running for Rakell. Kuzmenko isn't 1/3 the player he is.
