One of the best US born tenders of all time, one of the best post-seasons for a goalie in winning a Conn Smythe... I think that argument can be made that he'll get in.
He certainly will, regardless of whether or not one might put him there

What if Arizona told Chych we have a couple offers that are comparable, where would you rather go? And he picked Ott?

What if Arizona preferred Ott 1st rounder in 2023 compared to others thinking it could be top 13?

So many assumptions in this thread.
Dreger on Sabres Live today said that he thought that Adams was interested but the price was too high, and that if Az wasn't getting their asking price, circle back around.

Not sure if it's true, but if it is, Adams wasn't interested in him for that price.

Adams gets zero credit for getting Tuch since he was forced to trade Eichel sooner then later. If it was up to Adams I am sure he would still have Eichel sitting injured while Adams does "due diligence" and "making calls".
He gets no credit for getting a good return because he was forced to trade him?

"If it was up to Adams I am sure he would still have Eichel sitting injured while Adams does "due diligence" and "making calls"

These takes are something else.

He gets no credit for deciding to make a move. He had no choice. That’s his big move in his tenure…one he had to make.

The fact that the return is great should INFURIATE you that he doesn’t make any other moves.

Oh good. We're at the AHL point of the trade deadline.
Adams has been there for days.

I hate that I keep comparing Adams to Botts but damn now we trading AHL players at the trade deadline just like Botts.

What do you mean he gets no credit lol? So if the reverse happened and it was a terrible trade it wouldn't matter? Getting someone like Alex Tuch back is just a big nothing?

I guess Risto for Rosen or Reinhart for Kulich + Levi are also no credit moves?

I'm fine with that. It was never about making the playoffs and ending the drought this season. Other than Ottawa none of the wild card chase teams have done anything to make their teams better. So far the only teams making significant moves are ones going all in the win the cup. News flash the Sabres aren't there yet.

i might not disagree with you but I also think that could just be a shadow of how the statistical model identify significant events to be measured

I'll have to hunt around that old blog to see if I can find the writeups they did on it because I'm probably doing a disservice to what they had found via their data and pared it down to just "forwards have more shot suppressing impact than defensemen do".

You think Dahlin, Tuch and Tage are sitting in the room saying oh well, we weren't suppose to make the playoffs? Thats absurd.

Do you think Adams sits in the locker room telling these guys look we aren't going to make the playoffs so just be happy.

That's not what I said at all. The players for sure want to make the playoffs and so does the management.

Adams would likely point to the team's record since the RK firing and Granato taking over as head coach and the strides they have made in on-ice results as evidence that their approach is the correct one.

If they make the playoffs this year without giving up any top tier prospects or any future 1st or 2nd round picks, Adams will be more than happy with the way things are going.

Adams likely believes that they can make the playoffs with what they have in the locker room today.
If Adams thinks they are going to make the playoffs with Dahlin and Tuch out with no additions to at least help till especially Dahlin comes back then he delusional and to be honest iam worried about this team in the future with Adams as GM
