I can’t believe they weren’t willing to beat that price on Cychrun. Exactly what they need and they could’ve given up assets from a position of need. Really makes me feel like they’re chill with this just being another rebuilding year.
I think they're chill with every year being a rebuilding year.

So who is left? Fabbro? I haven't really looked into him because it seemed like there were better options for us. Anybody familiar with him?

I know Klingberg is available but he's a rental. Would certainly trust him with the puck more than most of our D, but honestly I think Joki is better defensively than him, and that's not saying that much.

Parayko I could live with because hockey wise I think he's a good fit for what we need. But he's also not ideal in terms of age and contract and I don't see why Adams would be willing to spend for him but not Chychrun.

Anybody else?
From what I can remember Parayko, Provorov, Fabbro are speculated. Other guys that seemed to have rumors around them being available at points during the year: Dumba, Savard, Edmundson, Murphy, Soucy, Myers, Karlsson (lol). I'm sure I'm missing some.

It seems like it. Marty's comments about how deflating that deal was during one of the Sabres Live in the last week still stick with me.

This team has so many correctable holes that he won't even attempt to correct... like not even a bottom 6 guy that is above average face off guy... like literally nothing.

On Sabres Live Marty said the locker room became incredibly dejected every year when the Sabres did not make deadline moves to help the team.
That's my biggest fear honestly. Buffalo is not a big market and Guys like Dahlin and Tage can get their head turned if they feel like they are not getting any quality support from the management to lift the team. I don't think we are there yet but we know what happened last time the team had an inactive gm.

I'll bite.

Arizona has not indicated that Crouse is for sale nor have there been any leaks, I could be wrong though.

Arizona has stated they do not want to take salary back so Joker, Bryson and Olofsson probably wouldn't move.

Joker Bryson and Olofsson provide nothing to Arizona but hurdles.

You want to tie conditions to the Arizona 2nds lol

Arizona's ask has been two first round picks and a top prospect. You suffice the two first round picks (albeit they will be in 2 and 3 years from now) but then try to fill out the rest with "secondary prospects (not 1st rounders)" which spits into the wind of the ask.

My guess is that Arizona is asking for:
2023 1st (probably ok with a top 5 protection)
2024 1st
Kulich/Savoie/Ostlund/ (maybe Rosen?)

And I imagine kevin is offering:
2023 1st (probably ok with a top 5 protection)
2023 2nd Buffalo
Kisakov/Poltapov
Portillo

Someone has to blink

I'm glad they didn't, hasn't Hronek been atrocious?

Hronek is a good righthanded PMD. He has his moments, but as a mid-pairing puck mover, he's good.

I wonder what this says to the guys on the team playing thier guts out to get into a playoff spot basically being told thier GM doesn't think thier good enough for him to trade to make them a little better. I mean all year we've could of used a better goalie and defense. I'm not even a huge Chychrun fan, but Buffalo should of got him for that price.

I am annoyed we couldn't beat that price.

We have 3 second round picks this year. Those better be used to upgrade the team (instead of drafting some 150 lb Russian or Swede that has a 30% chance of making it to the NHL in 5 years).

And about this plan everyone says Adams has…explain it to me.

you want to tell me they shouldnt make moves at forward because the prospect cupboard isn’t stocked there? Sure. Fine.

you want to tell me that they have to ice horrible goalies because Levi might develop into an NHL goalie in three years? Well…I mean…I dont think that makes any sense…but sure.

now tell me how in the world fixing the D is a bad idea? Nothing is coming. Nothing is here.

Gotta be their 1st round pick. They are slightly lower than us in the standings. However I can't imagine that was something that couldn't be overcome with an additional pick.
I'm not ready to crucify Adams yet, but he better stop sitting on his hands.
With Ottawa only being 2 pts behind, I can't believe that would be much of a factor. There's about a 50/50 chance Ottawa finishes higher then Buffalo.

Sadly this sarcastic sentiment is Kevyn's unironic plan.

He is going to end up wasting Tage, Tuchs and Skinners prime years waiting for prospects to develop
They’re wasting Cozens, Tage, Dahlin and Power making like 10 million total RIGHT NOW.

Next year they’ll waste Dahlin and Power making 7 total.

In two years they’ll say they can’t move futures because of all the big contracts. For the players they wasted while they were making nothing.
