  • Xenforo Cloud will be upgrading us to version 2.3.5 on March 3rd at 12 AM GMT. This version has increased stability and fixes several bugs. We expect downtime for the duration of the update. The admin team will continue to work on existing issues, templates and upgrade all necessary available addons to minimize impact of this new version. Click Here for Updates
Teams are trading picks so far out half the GMs won’t be around to use them anyway.

Are we allowed to move 2026 picks like other teams? Or are those also still needed for the future long after this core is gone?

Vancouver just traded futures for a 25 year old RHD.

The Canucks can do it but we can’t.

My trade with Arizona

Chychrun
Crouse
2nd 24
2nd 25
conditional 2nd pick in 24 or 25 tied to where the BUF firsts end up being like if they are 6-12 range but picks are top 5 protected
AZ trades Olofsson, BUF retains 50%.

for

Joker
Bryson
Olofsson
PHL 2nd 23
BUF 1st in 24
BUF 1st in 25
secondary prospects ( not 1st rounders)

thr conditional pick(s) is tied to expected drsft position of the 1st. AZ has 5 2nds in each draft in 24 and 25 drafts. if the pick is playoffs it’s a middle round pick, if it’s higher then an additional pick.
other conditions tied to chychrun health in regard to these picks.

in 24…..

if he misses half the season thr pick is BUF 2nd. If he plays 42-55 games it’s playoff protected. If he plays 55+ it’s top 12 protected. If it’s 6-12 buffalo can give the 1st and take the best 2nd AZ has in 24.
I'll bite.

Arizona has not indicated that Crouse is for sale nor have there been any leaks, I could be wrong though.

Arizona has stated they do not want to take salary back so Joker, Bryson and Olofsson probably wouldn't move.

Joker Bryson and Olofsson provide nothing to Arizona but hurdles.

You want to tie conditions to the Arizona 2nds lol

Arizona's ask has been two first round picks and a top prospect. You suffice the two first round picks (albeit they will be in 2 and 3 years from now) but then try to fill out the rest with "secondary prospects (not 1st rounders)" which spits into the wind of the ask.

My guess is that Arizona is asking for:
2023 1st (probably ok with a top 5 protection)
2024 1st
Kulich/Savoie/Ostlund/ (maybe Rosen?)

And I imagine kevin is offering:
2023 1st (probably ok with a top 5 protection)
2023 2nd Buffalo
Kisakov/Poltapov
Portillo

Someone has to blink

I'm glad they didn't, hasn't Hronek been atrocious?

Adams doesn’t do anything unless Pegula tells him to. Marching orders were probably check in on Chychrun, and Adams did.

Now Adams is on vacation probably reviewing 2023 draft prospect material. The longer he draws out the rebuild, the longer his job is safe.

Can’t be faulted for making mistakes if you don’t make any decisions and just say it’s a development year every year.

Just how busted is Quick? Is he still better than what we’ve got?

He's been cooked for a few years. Maybe the anger at the Kings for moving him would fuel him for a time, but he's a reaction goalie who's reflexes have waned.

Why does no one outside the top 10 want to pick in 2023?

Maybe because 6-whatever are just like every other year?

Hronek seems like he fills the same role as Quinn Hughes a bit, but he will help the Canucks get into transition. Have to think this is the Wings going hard for Chychrun and that sucks most because the Sabres are in direct competition with DRW.

meh could not beat a third for Ghost?

and it's in... 2026. 3 Years from now?! I havent really seen anything like this.
It's like an NBA Chris Paul trade (just picked a name).

Paul for a 1st rounder in 2024, 2026, 2028, 2030, and every even year until 2048. Top 3 protected for the first decade, top 10 for the last decade.
