I think Adams is playing chicken with Arizona and he has his offer and is sticking to it.

Armstrong will need to decide whether that is good enough or if he wants to drag this out even more.
You have to wonder if there will be repercussions by the NHL for scratching Chychrun if he doesn't get traded.

Not repercussions to Arizona but to ratifying the bargaining agreement.(Or however thats done)

This will be the excuse if Chychrun doesn't move before the deadline. It could also be why Adams is holding the line as he knows they are one of a few teams that do not need retention.

Armstrong is also holding firm to not taking real dollars back. That's probably a bigger thing in all of this, the Coyotes are not interested (or are incapable) of taking back salary. And no one is interested in retaining on something that isn't their contract for more than just this bit of this season as a broker.
What is going on with the Yotes ?
why don't they want to retain any salary, they have a lot of cap space (and would help with a better return)

I’m going to be incensed that we didn’t beat Edmonton’s offer on Chychrun when the trade goes down. Wasn’t mad about Meier and Jeannot. This one will bother me.

Really all depends on what goes the other way for me. If Edmonton sends Broberg or Bouchard those would be guys Buffalo really doesn't have equivalents for. Recent Dmen picked in the top 10, though I'm sure some people will say Joker, Bryson or Johnson are equivalent

As long as the players are getting paid, good luck with mandating who teams play.

The Yotes may as well have an affiliation with an insurance underwriter for injured players.

How far down the line will the Bruins push trading their first rounder? How far will Tampa?
I always thought that when Rangers were handing out contracts to guys like Brad Richards or Gomez they were in trouble but teams like Boston, NY, Tampa always find a way to get it done.

You have to wonder/have concern in the back of your head will Adams have the guts to make these trades when it comes time to be a Stanley Cup contender. Not saying trades have to be done now nor should Adams pay these absurd prices but I do believe at some point to win the cup you are going to have to make trades to go for it.

Its going to be an interesting off season for Buffalo that is for sure.

Vancouver needs to start collecting 1sts in hopes of a rebuild. Their future looks bleak right now.
