Even Murray before Botts had a value problem -- every trade he made seemed like we gave up one piece too many.

Adams doesn't seem to have that issue, he's much more like Regier when it comes to trades. He gets the value.

Oh most definitely on Murray. It was always an extra piece. ALWAYS.

Adams did well with his teardown moves. His players have pushed the timeline. Now, can he adapt? Will he?

Marty mentioned the other day, no Bob Corkum deals. And for a team Marty worked his bag off for that year (72 starts), I'll take him as a guy who gets what showing some faith in your team means.

I get the whole "not desperate to add LD" thing, but Chychrun (and Ekholm) can play the right side just as well as the left.

I think the whole idea would be to bump Bryson out of the lineup, have Chych/Ekholm lead the "3rd" pairing with Boosh and then play up with Power in the 3rd/game on the line situations.

We have already seen Samuelsson on Power's right. If they bring in a left shot, they could do "new guy"-Dahlin and OP-MS for the pairs.

Adams has an easy path to winning here. The hole on D is so pressing and obvious that simply addressing it in any kind of meaningful way will appease people and the players will appreciate it.

You can sell everyone that you have forward depth here and in the future. You can’t convince anyone you have shit on D coming…and half of them are bad now

I feel like I heard that Konecny was on the outs in Philly at the start of the season due to issues with Torts. Did that calm down? Would he be someone of interest?

he's above a PPG playing for Torts, I doubt they're looking to move him.. But if they are I think it would be an off-season thing

There was something early but of late, nothing. He'd certainly up the dirtbag vs. dirtbag combat this division has become by plugging in one for the Sabres.

Ehhhhhh. He's a dink, for sure -- and we could use some skilled dinkage in the lineup.

But he's only signed for 2 more years and we're loaded with smaller, skilled wingers.

If we could get him for a song, sure. But I'd think other teams would offer more.

I would hope something like johnson/rosen/ostlund, protected 1st, and a "b" prospect. Adding chychrun improves the roster but with Dahlin and power already on the left side we aren't really desperate to add another ld.
If Adams is targeting Chychrun, my guess is that the plan would be an all LHD Top 4 of Dahlin, Samuelsson, Power, and Chychrun.

I rather not give up any of the firsts for what is left available.
I would have for Meier but its pointless to go into a bidding war with cup contenders.

Yeah that is fair. I'm just not sure if it would be better to add chychrun here or go with a smaller add and use the assets at the draft when there are usually a few more names at different positions out there.

I think a bit depends on what Johnson is going to do.

On the PDOcast this week they did a Chychrun deep dive and he has not really ever played on the right. I don't see that as a problem personally, but figured I'd mention it.

I'd rather they not wait on Johnson. He can still get icetime in Buffalo sooner rather than later even if they add now.

To me it's not an issue. I'd put him on a left side and balance three pairs. Put him with Dahlin or Power when they need a late boost, in which worrying about the d-zone is a lesser concern anyway.
