Tampa should *not* end up with Jeannot. There are too many other teams with too many better assets (including the Sabres) that could outbid the Lightning. Jeannot has no trade protection, so Nashville should be selling to the highest bidder.

Emphasis on the "should"s

I think Tampa appreciates the physical aspects of the playoffs perhaps more than any other team in the league right now. They know that over a long series, the energy guys taking the body do matter, breaking the opposition down and building in fatigue if not straight up breaking someone.

they held onto everything that could possibly matter. Nemec, Hughes, Holtz, Casey…You can get Meier without touching anyone of value on our roster AND no Levi, Savoie, Ostlund or Kulich?

f***ing do that

And if didn’t resign with us? What exactly would be the point of trading away multiple firsts and multiple B level prospects…? We aren’t winning the SC this year?

I know you don’t care about those points, but still

So let me get this straight? Not singling you out but the people who think Adams has to stag the course with a minor tweak or two.We have the most available cap the deepest prospect pool 23 1st 3 2nds 23 and we can't outbid anyone ? We currently have the youngest team which means most of our core is here. Now Tuch is out we have exceeded expectations we should be able to acquire anyone we want.We need a top 4 defender and some grit upfront. If we can't do that for this young team basically our GM is saying Fyou. The players and fans deserve a playoff appearance and it's in the team's hands if they want it.Not making moves whether long term or rental would be a colossal and reprehensible disservice to the players and the fans.I get the vibes thing and team unity but bigger vibes is when management goes out and gets players to bring team over the top or at least a chance at playoffs.New Jersey didn't give up much for Meir albeat no extension lots of quantity we could have easily beat that. Iam not saying Adams won't do nothing but man he is running out of quality players as teams we are competing for are getting better.I will be disgusted if he does nothing to help this young team especially with Tuch out now
I think some of those moves can be saved for the off-season as we will have less competition to be bidding against but I definitely agree that Adams should make a move or two at the deadline. I think he will.

I mean, neither is NJ. If they don’t re-sign him this is a disaster

I’d offer a Rosen and a second for Jeannot. Tampa will probably get him for a 3rd and Foote.
That's way too much, I really like Jeannot too but his 22 goal year is likely an anomaly and he's more likely a 15 goal guy. I'd like to see what Granato could do with him for sure. I'd rather package some of our 2nds.

Remember when the "insider" on Sabres Live (Dreger I think) said there might not be 10 players traded between then and the deadline, including the deadline? There were NINE GUYS in this one trade alone. :biglaugh:
You mean Paul Marner's dildo?

I want an Embedded-style video that shows Grier refusing the deal unless that 7th rounder is included. "But Lou, if you don't meet the condition for the second 1st, then it's 6 pieces on each side, and I can't have that!"

I highly doubt you have any New Jersey fan sorry to see these guys go, their top prospects are still in the pipeline.

The SJ-NJ trade for Meier is insane.

I seriously doubt Adams has the cojones much less the contacts and the inclination to take on something like this.

I wouldn't be willing to gut the future here for what at best might end up as a 2nd round showing in 2023. Just my opinion.

I don't know if he'll ever shoot 20% again, but he plays the sort of heavy game they could use looking ahead toward playoff contention. And it also keeps him from going to a rival while giving them someone who can throw hands when things go sideways.

Seriously not happy about that one. And that's because it puts another physical prick into a team full of them in the division.
This is where iam at with Adams.Dont care about the big names with exception in Chychrun but guys like Jeannot,Greenway and some defensive defenceman. There is zero reason we aren't in on this especially since grit is our biggest need at forward and a 4th or 5th defenceman on back end.It wouldn't cost a Kulich or Savoie so it's not hurting the rebuild possibly adding to the core

Meier would be about the future. Not just this year.

Anyways... gonna be great to be chasing Jersey and Carolina for the next 8 years.
