Don't worry. Max Sasson has had an amazing year in Abbotsford.

i forgot about greenway. his contract runs an extra year so it would need to be a swap for mikhayevev. that would make room for kessel and a dman.

Vatrano is a classic bad team player that will revert to being a 20-30 point third/fourth liner once back on a good team.

Greenway isn’t very good but would be fine as a rental but the extra year is a poison pill.
Not interested either, yeah.

Vatrano is really pumped up on PP points. He won't be collecting those in VAN, and his defensive game is bad. No thanks. Greenway just isn't good. No thanks.

At this point, I'm fine with standing pat. There aren't any players I'm interested in still available. Except maybe Colin Miller for just RHD depth.

The issue is in the Lindholm trade. You moved a couple good assets for him, and now he's looking like a pure rental. If you weren't really going for it, what's the point? It now looks like a fairly bad bet.
Until the canucks are eliminated too much has to be written yet to even conclude on that move yet imo

I also don't really understand why we'd want Greenway, with the extra year, given that we must want to re-sign Joshua, and you don't want to be paying Joshua and Greenway a collective 4-6 million while playing in the bottom six.

EDIT: to add, I'd rather try to go 4 years by 2 million for Joshua then touch Greenway. Although there is risk with that contract and I'm not sure if Joshua goes for it.

Yea, there's not much out there at this point. If Barabanov came cheap I'd take a flier on him, maybe Sammy Blais(not much of a player but could be useful in the playoffs as a guy who just wears down dmen with his forecheck).

Maybe you can get Greenway at 50%. Joshua at $2.5 mil. That would be $4 mil for two great bottom 6 wingers who cause havoc down low and allow others like Garland, Blueger, Suter, Bains, Podkolzin, etc to do work.

If we don't bring in a top-6 winger, I would try Podz and Joshua, when he's back, in top 6 roles.

If he's not playing too great you may get his asking price down as well. Lindholm in the $6 mil range would be fantastic.

EDIT: Ya as noted there's a buyers market for wingers right now. Nucks can pick and choose from quite a few I would expect. Just need one.
