Meier to NJ really just cements how pointless it is to add to this team this year.

Rangers added Tarasenko and may add Kane. The Devils added Meier. The Bruins added Orlov. The Leafs added ROR. The Canes are likely going to make a sizable addition as well. What's even the point of trying to add pieces this year?

Yeah this is basically the only addition I can support. Don't even think about trying to contend this year.

Young guys like Chychrun or Jeannot who are or could be discounts in the future are the guys to target for sure. Guys like Schenn? Keep that pick bro.

It's not like anyone that has already went to teams so far we were in on or could beat. Unfortunately with our assets it's what we are forced to do.

I would be extremely surprised if we just sat back with Crosby and Malkin here and honestly would be pretty pissed, no reason to sign those guys in the off-season and sit back.
