Hanifin is solid but soft and has had brainfart problems in the past. I get that he's just entering his prime and has room to grow but for this year, not really worried about him.

cant hate the player, hate the game.

Shouldve just thrown chucky on LTIR which is reasonable given his sternum

In a way this is what the NHL wants. It's not that difficult to enforce cap in the playoffs, just say any game time lineup has to be cap compliant, easy. So them not doing anything about it means they are fine with it.

Tbh it is a little strange that Vegas is the only team that constantly exploits this now and nobody cares. i guess Tampa did it with Kuch, but this is just silly

No argument on Forsling, that's for sure. Gus is honestly kind of unreal with how good his stick + smarts are.

And the comparison with Monty isn't really valid. Monty is a #1 PP QB, Hanifin has always had trouble running the powerplay. Also he isn't physical, while Monty is always giving the business and isn't afraid to get into scrums.

Hanifin skates like the wind but has always had questions about his hockey IQ (hence problems with running the PP) and that he wilts in the playoffs. The lack of physicality isn't really a problem but also doesn't fit Vegas' MO, their big D pounded us last year. Hanifin isn't going to do any of that. He still has room to grow but I'm not really worried.

Also one thing to monitor is what Hanifin's extension with Vegas looks like. That's pretty indicative of what we can expect with Forsling and somewhat Montour.
