We can sign Reino for $8-9M for 8 years and it'll be the equivalent to some other team offering $10-11M for 7 years when you taking into account taxes. Plus Viola can front load contract and Florida is just a great place to play.
Wtf, he's almost 30 and a new huberdeau! Let him go or give him 7Mx4.

Hanifin was taking shots with Big Walt and Matthew last summer, tell me this kid doesn’t want to play here and would rather be in Tampa !

I didn't know about this. Apparently he's good friends with Chucky? If that would entice him to sign at a discount, that would change the dynamics, IMO.

do we want to take a flier on Max Pacioretty

If the price is cheap enough, yes.

I actually prefer the team stay out of any deadline moves.

Current team is tied for second in the league in regulation wins and first in the Eastern Conference in regulation wins. Unlike some other teams, the Panthers do not rely on 3x3 or the shootout to garner points. This shows they are a playoff ready team.

Let's not disrupt the team chemistry so close to the playoffs. Plenty of time to do that over the summer.

I understand your logic, but if Zito sees an opportunity to get better he needs to take it. These opportunities don't grow on trees and we look like a team primed and ready for another run. You never know when we'll get this chance again with some of our key guys like Reinhart needing new contracts.

I feel like Tarasenko might be coming. Florida was interested before the season, they were scouting the Sens, and he has a full NTC so he kinda controls his own fate. Obviously Sens would rather get something than keep him for no reason.

Not similar to Huber at all. Reino works for his points and is just as good defensively. I think he'll age well. Of course the preference would be to sign for less years but that just not realistic. I'm not big on giving 8 years to a 29 year old either, but he's one I'd take the risk for.

wha? why would jersey move this kid? #2 pick in 22..

didn't realize he was a blue-chip prospect.

anyway, the tone of the podcast gave me the sense though that there are younger D out there that play a similar style already. maybe it's not nemec but zito is on the lookout for someone under the radar like that.

This has Zito all over it imo. Very familiar, center depth, right cap hit, low-key guy. This is your Armani knock off.
If I squint, I see another E-Rod lol.....down to the lack of finishing lmao

sounds like a fit

Listening to 32 thoughts,

Elliotte said a lot of teams are eyeing the Forsling situation as he is heavily coveted. I am bawling inside. I mean, I get it, I am not surprised, but it hurts to hear

I mean, he doesn’t really score though which was the point of adding.
If this is our guy, then Zito’s point is not just defensive team play ability but also going from “he doesn’t score” to “he will score”.

I don't remember him in the playoffs at all but his numbers aren't bad. Things get tighter in the playoffs, a smart player like Wennberg could be solid. We all want a scorer, Eberle would be great, but may cost too many assets. Can't imagine Wennberg costs a lot in a trade
