Hanzal is available i hope Dean gets him , hes a beast !

Hanzal and another bottom 6 player with a defenseman would be ideal. Very doable as well. We have lots of cap space.

We're fine as we are. Sure, it would be beneficial to add a player or two, but to say we can't win with the current roster is just nonsense.

I think it's unlikely. In 2012 we got Carter, who made a scoring impact in the playoffs. In 2014 we got Gaborik who made one heck of a scoring impact in the playoffs. Now we're minus some players who practically willed us to the 2014 Cup and Gaborik will be returning from a lower-body injury come playoff time Our secondary scoring is frequently missing and our defense, while strong overall, is not at the level of our 2012 defense. If Lucic replaced "I refuse to lose" Williams, who is our Carter or Gaborik this year?

He wasn't fast, but I miss Greene and his leadership.

That's not how I look at it. I don't really get caught up with the additions and subtractions. Bottom line is, we're playing much better hockey this year, than we had all of last year.

Might as well close up shop already. When looking at that Hawk or Cap defense, clearly nobody can beat them. Just overly impressive. Far better than anything the Kings can throw out there, 1-6.

Also shouldn't forget that people were questioning the Mitchell/Voynov pairing performance during the 2014 playoffs. Also, no Regehr or Mitchell against the Ducks that year. Greene and Schultz in a series against Anaheim? That's over before it starts.

Nothing nonsense about it,that's the difference between being blind and realism. The current construction of the team isn't getting past the Hawks or Capitals.

Yeah... and every year the team with the best roster on paper and most realistic chance at winning the Cup takes it home. Never has an underdog team defied the odds and won before... Never happens. Get out of here with that, no team stands a chance garbage.

Exactly. This team right now is playing better than the 2012 and 2014 teams were at this stage of the season. 2014 team finished 12-6-2 over their last 20. 2012 finished 11-4-3. 2016 has 21 games left. The Kings have always turned it on over their last 20 and that's a predicator on how they'll do in the postseason. To say this team right now has no chance is ridiculous. If they go 12-8-1, they'll finish with 103 points. And that is not out of the question with the lineup as is. Were there player departures and declines? Yes, but there have also been key players who have been added and others who improved since then. I'm not ready to just hand the Cup to some other team. These guys are incredibly difficult to defeat in a 7 game series. Maybe a trade happens tomorrow to help jumpstart the offense or maybe it happens on its own. We'll find out over the next 20 after tonight.

if we win the games at hand we could be second overall in the nhl standings with the group we have now. I would say we are contender. if a good trade comes up perfect if not i like where we are are regardless.

That's pretty much my point. Do we have the personnel to step up enough? 7 games against the Sharks, 7 games against the Ducks, 7 games against the Hawks in the 2014 playoffs. We barely squeaked by enough to keep from getting booted from the 1st round and the 2nd round and the WCF. We're one of the best in the league, but if only 1 one line is going during round 1 of the playoffs and we keep seeing this lack of secondary scoring, I could see us getting knocked out of the first round.

Having said that, I'm encouraged by the Vinny-Pearson pairing of late.

Regardless if you have blind love for Dean or not or think the prices are to high, the realism is this team isn't winning a cup with this team as it is today,so either Dean upgrades the defense and bottom 6 or it will be a short playoffs.

Could not agree with this at all. I feel there are about 8 or so teams that could win a cup with the roster they have today and we are surely one of those teams. Many fan seem to forget how much our team wears on their opponent over a seven game series. It will come down to what team is on top of their game come playoff time and a hot goalie can drive many teams to a cup.

Just please don't trade Kempe, he'll probably make the team next year and won't cost too much money. Everyone else can be fair game for all I care.
