Pirri is listed as a center but I'm pretty sure he plays a bit of wing too. He could be a solid player for the 2nd/3rd lines and some PP time as well. He's about .5PPG but his shooting percentage this year is slightly under 10%, and he's generally shot around 15%

He is a winger ,, His D is bad so he cant play effective C in NHL

Its the reason Hawks moved on from him and he has fallen out of favor in Florida because of his defensive shortcomings and inconsistency

Get Carter more shots? He's not wanting for shots. He currently leads the team. Averaging 3 per game already. In 2013, when he was a RW more often, or all the time, 26 goals and 7 assists in 48 games, he was at 2.77 shots on net per game. He just has the 2nd lowest shooting% of his career this year.

If they could/would get Staal, it gives Sutter more options, which can't be a bad thing. Carter is getting the puck on net though, just not in it.

I think the difference is that when he's center he often has the puck and takes shots
when he has already been carrying the puck and the goalie is ready...when he's wing and gets a feed from the center, be that it was Richards or Kopi, he was taking the shot from the pass and the goalie had less time, or Carter had some net to see and he was scoring more. 26 goals in 48 games projects to 45 a season. All in all, he should have more than 15 goals.
I know his hand got whacked real good on that faceoff, when he got injured,,,hpe it's 100%. Speaking of getting hands whacked, Lucic has not scored a goal in 8 games...since he was hacked by that Connaughton cretin.

I'm starting to see it like others have mentioned, if we go about adding too many new players, in addition to the already new acquisitions, we could possibly disrupt chemistry. Such a fine, narrow line The Wizard is walking during this particular deadline. I'm 100% on board with whatever decision Lombardi makes.

Also, I can't fathom our captain getting traded before this run -- despite how much cap relief it would free up -- in any sort of large trade involving term'd assets. That could capsize the ship. Chicago will be interesting to watch this post-season, with them adding and moving that much personnel.

Pretty big red flag if a division leading team that's adding pieces for their playoff run is looking to move Pirri. I'd look elsewhere...

But then again, if Purcell and Schultz were plan A I hesitate to know plan B.

I don't understand how we're linked to all these soft depth scoring players. Purcell, Boedkker, Pirri...

Next up you're going to tell me we got Boyes or Sam Gagner for a 5th or some ****.

It just makes me wonder if we're actually after them or if it's a DL smokescreen or if it's just "well the Kings haven't done much so probably them"

I could totally see that... maybe 1-2 hours before the deadline.

Look what the Rangers have recently traded to win nothing. What a rubbish team. That Staal deal is laughable.

And they'll likely lose Staal and Yandle as UFAs in a matter of months.

Remember when the Kings obtained Mattias Norstrom, Ian Laperriere, Ray Ferraro and Nathan LaFayette from the Rangers for them to borrow Jari Kurri, Marty McSorley and Shane Churla for a couple of months?

Some things never change.

If we're gonna do something I hope it's soon. Dunno how much more I can handle of "Our 3rd line winger on an awful team and/or a defenseman that would be #7 on your depth chart for Kempe and/or a 2017 1st."

Today I've seen Kempe for Bozak, Stempniak and Schlemko for Kempe and Pearson and a pick, Kunitz for Pearson, P.A. ****ing Parenteau for a 1st and a 3rd, Hudler and Russell for Kempe and Forbort...

i am hoping for the prices to drop as most of the buying teams get there additions. I am fine for dean to wait and get someone we can afford. However erickson from boston is the player i want. Second i would go after Hanson from van over verbata Hes having the better year.

well, Hudler has already been moved, so that would be interesting if Calgary could trade him twice.

I agree - Parenteau, Versteeg, Vrbata, Stempniak are all meh and not going to help the Kings beat Chicago or win a cup. Pearson is as good as any of them and Vrbata is like minus 33 (gotta be league worst, not even Jack Johnson can do that) and not a Sutter type player. He's probably capable of scoring 10 goals from here on out with Kopi and PP, but not worth it.

Outside of Eriksson, Kadri, or possibly Bozak, would not deal for one of the others. Doan would be intersting and a difference maker, perhaps more than anyone.
Would rather give Kempe a shot.

Kempe is struggling to play in the AHL, and battling injuries currently. He is not even close to NHL ready sadly. It will be another full year of AHL hockey for Kempe next season, provided he stays healthy. Ditto for Zykov who has now had two seasons derailed by injury.

So, Zykov isn't a trade commodity? How about Prokhorkin or Kubalik? LoL, Brady Murray?

Well, I seem to remember in 2014 everyone linked Cammy and Moulson to the Kings, about how they both had prior experience being Kings yada yada yada...boom Gaborik.

ron francis announces holding press conference at end of second period. riley nash and chris versteeg are both pulled from bench.
