this is the real hold up for trades. who does coach want to hang out with more. it's doan vs. stall in a good ol' farmboy throwdown. think staal might have an edge with the brothers aspect.

Btw, Everybody has already handed the Cup to the Hawks, but I'd wait a bit.
Weise is a player that would have fit perfectly in our system, but he's a 3rd liner, nothing more.
Fleischmann is toast, and I expect him to be a healthy scratch more often than not in the postseason
Ladd had a great run with Winnipeg, I love the way he plays, but he was on the 1st line BECAUSE HE WAS IN WINNIPEG. Besides he isn't having a stellar season and, above all, check his playoff stats. Ok, I don't think he played with Toews in his first stint in CHI, but still, he's not Selanne at 23.
Let's not forget that playoffs are a different animal than the RS, and Panarin still has to play a playoff game.
I just wish to get a healthy Gaborik for the postseason, and possibly a decent D which won't cost us the moon and the starts and could eat some of Drew's minutes. Then, if we play like we can, our playoff hockey, I like our chances against any team in this leagues. Hawks included.

It would be nice to pick up a forward like McGinn. Would give us 3 solid scoring lines with a good 4 th line too. Then id like our chances.

Hard to believe the Kings would be in on Staal. It would probably take the 2017 #1 and
a few prospects. I know a RW is more badly needed.
In all of Feb, Carter, Lucic and Toffoli ALL had 2 goals each! That's horribad.
Pearson is outscoring all 3 of them now.
I think it' time to shake up the lines and put Carter on RW. Get him more shots.
The few times they put him with Kopitar, they were beasts together.
It they were able to get Staal, Carter could play wing on line 1 or 2. Toffoli needs to
get going, so I think it would be good to move him up with Kopi.
Some Eriksson and Staal chatter...what would it take to get either?

I like Shane Doan's competitive fire. I saw him a couple of years back with his brother on that show where you get dropped off in the woods with a head start and then they sic trackers on you. He basically refused to lose/get caught and willed the two of them to the finish line just ahead of the trackers. I respect that.

Kadri would be better than most names out there...I have no problems with getting a center...move Carter to wing...I have more problems, getting a Stempniak, or B level player...such as Vrbata etc.

Get Carter more shots? He's not wanting for shots. He currently leads the team. Averaging 3 per game already. In 2013, when he was a RW more often, or all the time, 26 goals and 7 assists in 48 games, he was at 2.77 shots on net per game. He just has the 2nd lowest shooting% of his career this year.
If they could/would get Staal, it gives Sutter more options, which can't be a bad thing. Carter is getting the puck on net though, just not in it.

This team was insane when we had center depth of Kopi,Carter,Richards,Stoll.
Vinny has been a beautiful addition, but imagine if we could add Staal to the mix.
But, I think we do have other priorities and not sure we could offer what it would take to get Staal

i'd laugh if it were a trade with carolina then everyone freaks out speculating that it's going to be staal and it ends up being versteeg and murphy or something haha.
It's too bad wisniewski had to go and get hurt in his first shift of the season. He would've been a perfect second pairing right handed defenseman

That exactly was the scenario I thought of first thing this morning, haha. Something that will look huge at first glance, then a smaller move out of left field. Murphy would be an interesting project though especially given our link to Justin Schultz, though funny they were willing to part with C Miller so easily and seem to want to fill that spot ASAP...
and lol at MInnesota. Need more 30+ aged scoring wingers I guess, that'll solve everything...
