Had, not has. He has 11 goals this year.

The Kings need scoring, and the guys currently on the roster are the ones who need to score. Kopitar, Toffoli, Lucic, Carter. The guys paid a lot to do it.

he can score and would have been worth a 6th rounder...

in 157 games between the Panthers and Chicago Blackhawks, Pirri’s scored 46 goals and 29 assists.

Yes, but the last 2 playoffs, Versteeg has 2 goals, 3 assists for 5 pts in 27
games...and a combined -3. Not good. His good playoff numbers were his first
2 years...6 years ago. Dustin Brown was also good 6 years ago.

i know that's what all the Hawks fans have been saying, but considering that last two playoffs he also shot well below his career average, along with having a pretty good regular season thus far...I don't think the move is as "meh" as people think.

not trying to paint Versteeg as our savior or anything, but i think he's probably a relatively good pickup considering how much everyone is going bananas over depth forwards this deadline. Anyone notably better would have cost too much, and anyone else he's at least on par with if not better. As long as he becomes comfortable with our system before the playoffs I think that he is a great depth move for this season.

Yea for a 6th, Pirri is a no brainer. A 6th is nothing, even with our excellent scouting staff.

Panthers continue to add and are going all-in. They don't want him. What does that say?

Dumpster diving defined.

Says the Ducks got more scoring depth for almost nothing, we'll have to wait and see how Pirri does. Panthers are overloaded at C, that's why Pirri was dealt.

The Canadiens have acquired Stefan Matteau from the New Jersey Devils in exchange for Devante Smith-Pelly.

If you call "all in" as adding Purcell and Kindl.

Hudler has been poor this year as well.

They did some volumous dumpster diving, IMO.

They had no room for Pirri after picking up trash from other teams so they disposed of their own trash.

a minor league deal. Well that makes sense as, imho, that's about how Dean played this trade deadline: minor league.

Flame away

Kings didn't have much to trade and didn't get much in return. Attempts were made but ultimately anything more than a patch up job was probably too pricey. It may look bad but if the guys can just wake up, it won't be so bad. NOBODY is scoring goals, NOBODY. They haven't scored more than 3 goals in a game since the Rangers game(when Gaborik was injured) and the defense has gotten way tighter. It's like 2012 all over again.

Yes I do. Tallon was given full control and he added the pieces he felt fit.

besides, if you guys think the likes of Brandon ****ing Pirri is going to put the Ducks over the top against us, then there's much bigger problems.

hi, just a question. now lak is probably done with shopping, right? lak got 5 new faces with trades just this season, starting with lucic, that's +20% of roster, so that's it, right? i'm already having trouble with remembering all the new jersey numbers...

We do have bigger problems. Pirri for a 6th is just a good move, just like Lovejoy for Despres. Low risk, high reward. Never said he'd put the Ducks over the top, don't put words in my mouth.
