When was the last time we ever had anything to look forward to near the deadline? We need Streit, unless we've given up.

Ehrhoff's cap hit isn't bad, it's only 4 million and he can play top 4 mins and play PP.
He's got 8 years left on that and he's already 30 though, so we'd probably only be getting 2 or 3 good years out of him.

He's also got a NMC/NTC built in as well..

That's not too surprising, but I wonder if you could convince him to be part of what's being built here? It's gotta look brighter then Buffalo.

Last time we "really had something to look forward too" the Oilers added Dwayne Roloson and Sergei Samsonov, and we know the rest.

I think the Streit talk needs to stop......(Cloutier HockeyBuzz Eklund)

Why would a team like the Islanders who with a win tonight are now in the playoffs move there Captain and Arguably there best "D" makes no sense......

The only thing Potter's got going for him is that he's a RHD.
When Whitney comes out of the line up, we miss his break out passing.
Fistric and Peckham have trouble on the right side.

Catch 22 for Potter.

Because they don't want to lose him for nothing?

Because they're currently negotiating a contract extension with him and if unsuccessful they risk losing him for nothing. They could wait until draft day to move him, though.

Looking forward to the summer, The Blues have Pietrangelo, Steward, Shattenkirk and Berglund as notable RFA's. Any chance we could get in on any of Stewart, Berglund or Shattenkirk?

Also, Ryan McDonaugh in NY is an RFA and that team has lots of Dmen. Just some food for thought.

@SunGarrioch
Three players to watch tomorrow: Jason Pominville BUF Drew Stafford BUF Raffi Torres PHX

@TSNBobMcKenzie
VAN talked to TOR after Derek Roy trade, just to let Leafs know parameters of potential Luongo deal have changed. No longer require C.

‏@TSNBobMcKenzie
But VAN still feel need to get something tangible for Luongo to help Canucks down stretch and into playoffs. Still may be an issue for TOR.

And...

@FriedgeHNIC
Since last Monday, only one trade (Bergeron for Hall) has involved NHL players on both ends of the deal.

STL was going to be in cap trouble before bringing J Bouw on board.

Somebody is going to have to be moved out of there.

Even if the Oilers strike out on deadline day Tambellini has no choice but to be active at the draft and the off-season. With the cap going down GM's will be desperate to talk trade and we have cap space.

Could you go get Ryan O'Byrne from Colorado (rental and RH) and then move some other pieces out for more balance and less Potter?

Streit for N.Schultz... win-win?
Both teams continue on with playoffs push. NYI gets a Dman signed for another year.. EDM gets an upgrade and free up some salary for next.

Ryan O'Byrne would be just as bad of a fire drill in his own end that Potter is if what Avs fans say is true

Well damn it, lol, I was thinking paired with Whitney it might balance better, plus he's big and mean.

I don't know, lots to consider, this is why I get so annoyed when everyone assumes it's just simple tit for tat transactions.

What makes sense now, if the Canes have a surplus of RHD

To CAR: Peckham, Jones and a 2nd round pick

To EDM: McBain and Brent

Be interesting to see what happens with Pietrangelo and Shattenkirk since they just brought in JBo and his 6.6 mill cap hit.

They don't any high priced forwards though. But both dmen mentioned could easily be in the 6+ mill.

I'd do that.

As for bolded; yeah, me too. The way people go on around here being an NHL GM is a piece of cake. Our garbage for others young bright spots.

I'd like Ott or Stafford. Don't mind that they are overpaid.

Streit if he was available.

Trading away a veteran like Schultz for a younger offensive dmen doesn't make us better. NSchultz is way more important to this line-up then you guys give him credit imo

If Tambellini intends to do nothing on the deadline I would like him to atleast put in a waiver claim on Adam Hall, Belanger's injury has been nagging and would give us atleast one veteran option on the 4th line. No big whoop if he sits in the press box the entire time whereas Lander should be playing to further improve himself and sending Lander back down to help ensure OKC make the playoffs would be good for the development of the rest of our prospects.

Hall is also a UFA at the end of the year so it's not like we would get stuck with him. The only real question is are there still some college FA's we are still interested in, that we wouldn't be able to sign if we pick-up Adam Hall.

NShultz plays tough minutes for this club. He's reliable. When he's exposed it's due to our lack of a number one.

I think trading Jones would be a mistake too.

Both of these guys would need to be replaced by similar types of players imo
