Speculation: Trade Deadline Options

Vanek to Florida for a 3rd. That's dirt cheap

Iginla better be for future considerations or DL has lost it.
 
At least Vanek is off to the Panthers so he's not an option. Yes!

Every time a slow veteran is off the table and not an option for Dean, I cheer.

That said, I liked the Vinny Lecavalier rental. But I've had enough of rentals.

If it's for something like a conditional pick, I'd have no issue with it. The effort will be there in what is probably his final season. But I doubt the results will follow.

Could be a useful boost for the PP if we ever get there.

He's still a dick in scrums so that might be nice for emotional engagement as well.

The rest of the time, he's a human turnover.

Iginla has the same amount of goals and assists as Dwight King at over twice the cost of Dwight King plus he'll cost the Kings a draft pick. How do you rationalize this as being anything more than a dumpster dive by Dean?

Vanek likely wouldn't last 4 shifts in our chip and chase, heavy forecheck system. Healthy scratch written all over him. Iginla is probably a better fit and will cost less. Just don't trade anything significant and I'm cool.

I'm fine with something like a 6th rounder for Iginla. It's a zero risk trade. I think he'd perform better than people expect. If he doesn't, no big deal, we don't really lose anything.

We lose cap space.Dean needs to stop wasting picks on UFA.
 
Iggy can only help the PP...it's a low bar, but he'll raise it. Hope it's a low pick or a useless prospect.

So you want Dean to trade Muzzin or Martinez for Kane? That doesn't make us a better team and Kane is a big risk.
