Xenforo Cloud will be upgrading us to version 2.3.5 on March 3rd at 12 AM GMT. This version has increased stability and fixes several bugs. We expect downtime for the duration of the update. From the sounds of it we're in Clarkson for Horton territory at that point.
Parenteau apparently has nice fancy stats, but he is frustrating to watch. Not sure how the Kings have been in the shootout this season, but Parenteau's been a solid shootout guy over the years. Of those three, Stafford seems more like a DL type.

Okay, if Ekland is right about the Kings trading for Mark Streit, will cancel my season tickets.
I understand wanting a vet, but Streit is a dinosaur.

A 35 year old Burrows cost the Sens a pretty good prospect...can't see Sharp or anyone going for cheap.

I just hope "IF" Dean does pull the trigger on a Fwd, it's a good player with term for the assets it will take to acquire.But this team can't go on without help on Kopi's wing..

Hate the Kopitar comment RE: picking up a winger on LAKI.
To summarize: wants a trade to happen and thinks the team needs it.
FFS $14MM Man...you shouldn't need some trade deadline pick up to get you going.
Love the guy but ****...act like a captain. He's never been one to make excuses for the times he hasn't performed to expectations so it irks me a bit to hear him say this now that he's wearing the "C". Much rather here something like "Sure, it's always good if you can upgrade the team but, at the end of the day, I've got to be the one to produce and lead us into the playoffs".
Accuse me of picking nits if you must: I just don't like that answer and won't be swayed in my opinion of it.

He's also played with the team's better players. It hasn't mattered.
Do they need more scoring? Yes, so he is not wrong there.
Problem is his production is a huge reason why they need more scoring.

Yep, just look at how Toffoli looked completely ineffective with Kopitar, then he gets reunited with Carter and nets two goals in the 3rd period.
Kopitar has 35 points on the season. That's 3rd line center production. Sam Gagner has more points than Kopitar. I really find him to be one of the biggest reasons as to why this team is in the position it's in.
He's become as soft as Jozef Stumpel and his offensive game has gone the way of Michal Handzus.

You might want to check outside your windows for pigs flying first.
Streit has been in a ton of rumors nad i'm sure will get moved by Wens, to a playoff team. He's a good PP guy, leftie by plays both sides, great teammate, has been thru the playoff wars. Nice guy, wish him the best but he's turning 40 next year, don't see him a part of Hexy's 'younger and more skilled' scenario.
Said in an interview today that despite what happens Wens, he wants to come back next year to mentor Provy and Ghost.
Not sure that is in Hexy's plans, with Sanheim and Hagg both expected to make the team.
But I can't see DL doing that, Kings defense is fine, if he makes another move it would be for a forward I would think
Bidding war for Shatty and the Rangers are involved as well. Caps and Pens should note that NY is where Shatty has a house and wants to play. COuld be an expensive rental.

yeah I looked at it and walked away to think about maybe I just didn't read it right but that pissed me off too. First time in Kopitar's career that I can recall that he didn't take responsibility for that. I'm sure he actually does, and he's not really wrong, but you don't want to hear that excuse coming from that player. Total bummer.

I'm not saying we should all be grabbing pitchforks and torches but it is a bummer of a response from the captain of this team. For the highest payroll team in the league, guys need to be looking in the mirror first before asking DL to help them out. He has definitely not adjusted well to his contract and the captaincy.
I will say, once again, that the kid wearing #23 out there is playing his ass off. If he keeps it up, he might get a letter on his sweater someday.

Came here to post about Kopitar's comments also. Glad I am not the only one who thought that was weird. His comments were odd because: (1) you almost never hear a player asking the GM to acquire a player; (2) trading for a winger implies your teammates are not performing well, which, whether true or not, is not something you say; (3) the trade could involve one of your teammates; and (4) the generic, politically correct answer to the question asked is "that is up to the GM, but we as players, including me, need to perform better etc."

Yep. It reeks of 'please save us' when it's like dude, we are paying you to be that guy, save yourself.
Which makes it look even more like the Bishop trade was made to say "tough ****, shut the **** up and score, no one is going to save you but you."
