Villar hasn't been exactly great this year, but he is a tremendous upgrade on Panik/Espinal, has legitimate upside and is a fantastic runner. He was worth a full win on baserunning alone last year. That is of huge value.

Jays aren't even entirely paying Ray. Arizona gave them cash along with Ray for Bergen.
