I take it Hughes’ strategy is to wait till 2:59pm in anticipation sellers ask prices will drop to liquidation sale levels?

Is another Vanek situation going to present itself (Rantanen)?

For me it's Zegras. Also, Buffalo is not trading us Cozens, a 3rd team would have to be involved. In approximately 100 games less played, Zegras is 25 career pts behing Cozens. I still think he is the better player and not only that, is good friends with many players on our roster which I value big time!

All that said, KH probably does nothing anyways but I feel like he could be a big piece down the road to add to our core

Rantanaan is cool, but he's a winger and we really need centres. Realistically, the only names out there that makes sense for the habs is Cozens. Any other trade that would benefit the habs would have to involve players no one is really talking about, and at that point, we have no idea what negotations are being had between habs mgmt and other teams.

Then there is moving guys like Savard, Dvorak, Armia. Realistically, the habs would get a handful of middling picks for these players, which I don't think they really need right now.

Mgmt correctly identified that this team is good enough to be in the mix. Time to use assets on 25-28 year olds that can play now. However, we know these are the hardest trades to make.

The habs don't need more 3rds and 4ths, or players in their mid 30s. I mean I won't be mad if this what they end up doing, but I won't be mad if they dont add these pieces.

ROR not too old. They only need 2 seasons out of him.

“This lineup needs help, and we don’t want to rush a prospect” type of trade. Buy time until a prospect can slide into place.

OTOH, Cozens is an option, but they’d really have to like him a lot because he’d be locked into that 2C role for 7 years. They’d have to like his outlook more than the handful of Center prospects on deck. (Beck, Kapanen, Hage, Koivu, Sawyer) … and one would likely leave in the trade.

List the top 100 centers in the NHL. Then trade for the 100th. I’d be happy.

In all seriousness, Cozens or McCann and I go to sleep with a big fat smile on my face (that’s the clean version).

If Buffalo is willing to trade Kulich you might as well just fold the entire franchise. No point having a farm team in the NHL feeding elite talent to everyone else

Maybe if the center piece was Dach. Swapping 2 reclamation projects.

Haha seriously... on the verge of a third world war while idiots like Trudeau and Trump and playing my peepee is bigger than your peepee while f***ing over the citizens of both Canada and America and people think the salary cap is going up.

Less than less people can afford or are willing to pat the cost of a sports ticket but yeah... cap is going up foooorrr suuurrreeee

For the people wanting to shore up Laval's depth. What would you give a conditional 6th round pick based on Laval making the finals and player playing 50% of the games? Lol
