I understand that it a weakness for Toronto but that definately isn't the biggest weakness, they keep patching hole in middle 6 when there 1/2 D is barely NHL level, they don't seem to understand that there offense can squeeze out a meaningless 6-5 win... But when you are facing a contending team in the playoff who are defending every inch of the ice like there life depended on it, you D will get exposed regardless of how good the top 9 is...

It’s very hard to watch every single year as other teams easily acquire top 6 forwards and top 4 defensemen and we sit by the sidelines

Its all about timing, we're not quite THERE yet this season to be at the point of "OK , were established! were for sure making playoffs, need reinforcements!"

In the timeline of the big picture plan, this particular point of the build they didnt have on their calendar "dont forget, march 2025, forget about the plan and just go after everyone" or "ok doesnt look good, trade everyone we dont need" ... we are PASSED the point of "asset acquisition no matter what it is"

The guys in charge have a real, well built idea and plan in mind, and this is all par of the course right now

obviously they would of liked to get something for Savard when he was a bit ore valuable, but now you kind of need him for the kids still, just for the rest of the year

People forget we have 2 firsts, 2 seconds and 3 thirds this year like.. they dont care about extra draft picks right now

It was always about THIs summer and the 2026 deadline that things were going to get real interesting for us
