Tanev for a 2nd too. Kent Hughes standing with his dick in his hand when Savard and Armia could have each gotten a 2nd. Now watch us miss the playoffs by 1 point but be happy when we could miss it by 8 points but with 2 extra 2nds.

I'd like to see them make a couple moves too. But we also have 7 picks in the top 2 rounds of the next 2 drafts. At a certain point, contracts become an issue and upping that to 9 would indeed put us in a bind. Unless we self-select a pool of guys whose ELC's can be time stamped for 3y down the road.

Based on what Schenn got, Savard definitely worth a 2nd rounder minimum. I would pull the trigger if I were KH. Frees up a spot for a youngster as well.

Which youngster so urgently needs Savard's spot that we need to trade Savard months before his deal is out?

To my eyes no one has made that case this year.

Use the 2nds to move up or even flip them for a competent bottom 6 center to replace Dvorak. If we don't trade those two with these prices and we miss the playoffs, Hughes failed miserably.

...and a lesser draft pick in the first round

Guhle is back skating and apparently good to come back soon. We could have put in some waiver claims if we don't want to call up anyone from Laval. Savard is a PK specialist and unplayable 5v5, he's not keeping us afloat.

How many hours left until the deadline? I don't understand north american time with the AM and PM and stuff.
There's 2 hours left. They're not doing anything, too afraid of ruffling some feathers the wrong way in the locker room and unable to acquire anything significant from other teams because buyers are too busy investing into rentals and sellers can not sacrifice rentals and regulars at the same time.

Quite a bad strategy if that was really what they were hoping for.

I think they decided to sitting it duck when they signed Evans to a 4 year deal on a lowball.

Could test Mailloux. We will need to make a decision on him soon enough whether he is worth keeping or traded.

I know people want the playoffs but we are still a rebuilding team whether we like or not.
