Imagien going back to the Kulak trade and saying, "No I wouldn't trade Kulak, we need warm bodies and a late 2nd is insignificant." and after Hutson explodes "You don't know if we would have drafted Hutson anyways"
But at the time....where were we with Kulak in the standings?

Frankly, I still believe that it's nonsense to think that we should go playoffs minded with the team we have. We have no 2nd C. And we have the goaltending we have. But Hughes CLEARLY isn't thinking this way.

Don't get me wrong...I keep saying 2nd rounders are important. I would have done the deal to Winnipeg for what they go with Schenn. But CLEARLY this year, he prefers that this year will be a year of culture. Of fighting for playoffs.

Anyway, right now, it looks like it. Let's hope he helps Laval though.

So, I see the mood here right now is similar to the one in a game thread. Half of the posters scream and complain about the Habs and the other half is making jokes and staying calm.

I wasn’t my expecting much because we aren’t even close to contend, but not expecting a purge either.

People need to get real. Armia, Dvorak and Chewbacca Savard isn't going to move the needle much. Once we extended Evans, our TDL was bound to be non-existent.

Nobody is expecting much but the fact that people think Dvorak Savard and Armia will destroy the chemistry of this team is hilarious.

2 4th liners and a 7th dman , but they are to important. But at the same time we can't sell and find a center better than Beck to fill the gap on the second line

Are they pushing for playoffs or not

No man's land deadline

I really don't see any point in making a deal today. We are flush with picks, and our biggest needs are not going to get solved today for a reasonable price ( a top pair D-man and a #2 center, both with term). It makes no sense to get a rental right now; we are on the bubble, but being realistic, this team is just not good enough to make a run yet. I'd rather keep our assets in-house so we have the capital needed to make a deal for a long-term need in the off-season, because next year with Demidov on the roster we should be all-in to make the playoffs and be good enough to maybe win a series.
