Will Hughes add more by 3 PM EST?

Add this to the organization's prospect capital as well as potentially more draft capital being added on Friday and I fully expect Hughes to try and acquire at least one very good winger to add to the team for next season.

I expect Savard to still be here unless Hughes receives an offer that he can't refuse with one/both of Harris and Kovacevic on the move during the off season. This creates some space for Reinbacher/Engstrom/Mailloux/Hutson to make appearances next season with Savard still around to impart some wisdom upon them. Savard is likely moved at/around next years deadline when one or more of the aforementioned kids forces their way into the lineup.

Or.....none of the above happens and further proof of my silliness is accrued

Damn those rumours with Dubois to the Bruins. I don't really want him in my face during the season.

About Allen, I have the feeling teams are gonna bite but we're gonna stuck having to take some contracts in return, I feel.

You worried about the Quebecois version of Dustin Penner in our conference? If Boston trades for him they instantly get worse and for a very long time. I would love it.

Now imagine what Pittsburgh could have had for Malkin and Letang had they started rebuilding a few years ago like they should have instead of clinging to the past.
If a core group brought Montreal multiple Cups I'd love to have them retire with the team instead of shunting them at the earliest possible convenience.

That's another way to see things and I respect it, if we had a generational talent like Crosby I'd want him to retire here for sure but after 5-6 seasons of post-cup stagnation I'd start looking to trade some of the other high value aging vets to kickstart the rebuild.

Damn, that's quite the haul. I really like Koivunen and Ponomarev is solid. Both players I wanted Montreal to draft. Ponomarev has a real motor on him. He's good defensively and aggressive offensively. Koivunen is just skilled and smart.

Ponomarev is already playing in North America. Koivunen could be playing in NHL as soon as next season.

Lucius is a good prospect too, and Pens either get a late 1st or late 2nd. I like this trade for Pens.

Ponomarev and Koivunen could be helping them as soon as next season. They need the depth.
I don't know the prospects. Sounds like Pens building depth next season.

Only updrade to get at TDL would have been .. It's Ok to wait for trades untill off season. R.

Mittelstadt.. The price would have been a top young defenceman.

Guess fair same deal. Guhle. or Xhakjai .. Yeah I would have to think hard on that one... Glad Colorado took the oppertunity away...
An opportunity we were never considering?

I predict that Kent Hughes have already finish his work and no trade from Habs today.

It's the easiest prediction I make so far, I'm really confident about that.

I dunno, the assessment from this guy doesn’t evoke very high ceilings — 2 of them project as bottom sixers and the third may not make it to the Show:

I have Koivunen as top 6. Pono as middle 6. And, yeah, Lucius is just an asset they can dump in another trade. Then Bunting.

Pens have little depth in prospects, and don't even have the ability to do a draft pick & B prospect type of trade. Now, they do.

Don't expect much today. Only 3 unconditional first have been traded, we got one of them, and only one in the last week. So Savard is staying put. I doubt anybody bites on Allen, Pearson etc.
You speak accurately I am afraid. The only thing I want to see is the goaltending issues addressed.

Absolutely agree..............that said I don't think it will be until the off season. Hope I am wrong.
As a fan of Hughes, his handling of the goalies, contracts etc has been dreadful....Get off your a$$ man and make a freaking decision....

The 2025 draft picks are really good, that's what you want in a rebuild: lots of early picks. Hughes wasted a lots of 1st and 2nd round picks to acquire young players instead. That means in 5 years the cupboard will just have twinnners in it and no cheap good NHL players for a cap strapped team.
