Hearing Button talk about Ritchie and how the Habs could have had him and Rehkopf in their prospect pool.

Ooof that stings and could sting really hard.

Does anyone think that Pizza Mullet being a healthy scratch in favor of Ylonen was an attempt to showcase Ylonen for a trade or an indication that they might want to move Pezzetta?

I'll be shocked if Ylonen is re-signed or even offered a contract. Career minor leaguer.
They were afraid to lose him on waivers...

He'd go willingly to Vancouver for sure, and probably to Seattle too. But he still has term and gets paid way too much for what he brings at this point in his career. I don't see any team being willing to take on 3 more years of whatever it is Gallagher is doing at $6.5 million per. In truth, he isn't worth half that anymore. and I doubt that the Canucks, Kraken or any team is thinking that they're just a Gallagher away from a Cup. He doesn't move the needle anymore.
Gallagher is unmovable...never mind his salary, why would any team want to acquire him along with his NTC?

Habs are just going to have to eat that contract for the time being and really, it doesn't hurt them either way for the time being.

In 2025-26, that might be different but I think he'll only have that year and the next left before he's a UFA...buyout might be more palatable at that point.

Savard to the Leafs still makes the most sense. They need any type of dman and have no dmen signed passed this season besides Rielly and McCabe. The thing is, I don't think Hughes will help the Leafs by giving them a player that will be in their top 4 for so cheap for 2 years and only get a 1st.

I see the kids helping out Savard on most shifts lol. Veteran D is nice, but if he can bring us that value, goodbye
What would be value worthy of trading him? Be realistic...

Many years ago the Habs had several young D. Schneider, Odelein, Brisebois, Haller to name a few and I remember reading an article where the author made the case that they had stopped developing. They weren't surrounded with really good vets.

No truck or trade with the Leafs.

Probably could only get career minor leaguers in return. Although some HF posters might disagree, I recall someone saying MSL is the worst coach for not giving Ylonen PP1 minutes.

I don't think that's true, or at least that's not the feeling I get, this board and reddit seems to love him more than I love a cup of coffee in the morning
Well, they shouldn't.

He should be here when the Habs are ready to compete. When that is, is likely when his contract is up, or almost up. He'll want a raise and won't be worth it

A player who plays this many minutes against other teams best players will make mistakes but myself I want him to be on the back end through his contract

I heard on leafs radio this morning that the leafs inquired on Savard and the price was a 1st and Hughes was not budging. They have their price and that's that.

I also heard that leafs are sitting Nick Robertson out, so he may be traded today. I don't think the habs really need a player like him, so not really relevant for us.
