Why take in a toxic player at the same time Savard would be dealt? Should the toxic asset not be the object of a separate transaction or require its own compensation?Trading away a guy like Savard who is a solid D, helps our young D and is a great leader to get a pick likely around 28th - 32nd while taking on a toxic player doesn't make a lot of sense.
I too would rather keep Savard except in the event of an overpay but the trade scenario as constructed is not an overpay but a dilution of the return.
