GDT: Trade and Free agent Rumours thread | Chayka off-season edition

I feel bad for the Kraken. It'll be hard for them to get a star player. They really need to just go all in on youth, or trade for young budding stars. Easier said than done, but dumping good assets for guys like Samoskevich isn't gonna help that.
They are trying to be Vegas without the perks Vegas got.

Fair honestly. A ton of cap space and no free agents probably made a lot of teams a lot more willing to go for it, both those things have been rough since the flat cap covid years.
It’s crazy to think Mason Marchment might be the best free agent forward this year so I understand the prices in the market.

The Leafs need to be careful as well with trading Knies or Nick Robertson because on top of the other needs we have, some bottom 6 wings and secondary scoring is needed as well and there’s not as many options this year.

Philly is the only team I can think of with too many RW. They are looking at c’s in return though.

The Capitals have an abundance of right handed players/wingers. Like it's a huge difference us and them. They also have AHLers like Miro, Parascak, Trineyev, etc.

They might have some interest in Carlo since they might need some form of NHL ready defenders that don't cost a ton... but no idea if they have interest in trading any of them. Miro is not getting in that lineup and he's turning 23 next year... might be someone they want to flip.

I can see Carlo being a secondary option for the Capitals if they don't get the RD they want more.

Im not trading rielly for nothing. He is a 2nd pairing D that can put up 40-50 points. His contract isnt bad. Good locker room guy.

Like he isn't a cap dump. He definitely has value. If we can’t get a good trade then keep him.

Same for Carlo. Guy is 3.5m for a 2nd to 3rd pairing D who shoots right and is big. Can PK.

By tommorrow 10pm if the leafs biggest addition/move is Gavin Mckenna then I will be disappointed.

Get a Carlo or Rielly deal done at least if we are moving those guys

I want moves, but am more concerned about what the team looks like on October 1st than I am in what it looks like tomorrow night.
