I think that neither Point nor Cirelli are waiving their NTC's to move from Tampa Bay to Ohio.

Why the f*** would Point or Cirelli do that?

Then I guess they aren't getting him unless he says it's the only place he's going.

Which sadly is possible.

Moser is a decent piece, a 26 year old 3D maybe more, Geekie is a mystery box and Goncalves is a 3C.

Put this way - if Tampa offered Moser, Goncalves, Geekie and the 23rd pick in the 2027 draft for Knies, what would you say? Now take Knies and double his value and you get Werenski.

Unless he only wants Tampa, it's not enough, not even close.

I agree with your overall point. I would think Sa. O'Reilly would almost certainly be included as well... Just because Waddell seemingly wants primarily NHL players, I'm sure he'd be taking Tampa's best prospect as well.

I don't disagree, we seemingly concur that Tampa has little of significant value to offer Werenski, which was my initial point.

I don't see how we get Werenski unless he forces his way here like Kawhi. It's going to take at least Knies + Andrae/Danford + Colorado 1st + Hildeby and that likely doesn't beat the Dallas offer.

Werenski vetoed Dallas... So unless he can be convinced, it doesn't matter how much Dallas offers, Werenski simply says "no". He's got Waddell by the balls.

And CBJ still has him locked in for the upcoming season AND the one after.

Plenty of time to say 'f*** you, do better.'

...

I'd be rolling out a huge wagon for him if it was understood in principle he'd re-sign here (technically tampering but we all know they discuss this).

Think Nylander, Danford and the COL 1st, or Knies, Danford, Cowan, COL 1st and Hildeby. Add Z, still have Matthews, McKenna, JT and one of Knies or Willy up front.

Stay Columbus then.

Could you imagine if Tampa Bay pulled some magic out of their ass and got somebody in their core to wave their no movement clause to get this done?... I doubt it, but what a twist that would be.
They don't need it, plus it would affect the appeal of going there. They have enough to do anyway despite the downplaying that they don't

Also, I would say that there's more than just these two teams involved. I'm thinking Philly or Carolina might like a crack at him as well.

Need to calm down here; let it play out.

He apparently already rejected a trade to Dallas. So we don’t have to beat their offer. Just the best offer from the teams he would sign with
