Talbot would have been okay but not too upset with that. Guerin likely wanted a goalie back and we didn't have any that would have been value to him.
Dorion's had a good off season so far and you wonder if Eugene RIP, was interfering too much.

Talbot would have been nice but doesn’t move the needle a ton for me. Marginal upgrade to Murray but it’s meh to me.

Dorian was able to steal him off the Wild nicely though.

then im hoping kerfoot and holl are moved out as well. laterally or for futures to spend laterally

the subtractions would equal about another 10 mill minus the 4-4.5 most are saying manson will sign for over 3-4 years

Actually the more I think about it, Talbot might have been preferable as a 1A especially for the price paid

I think it would have made more sense to trade for Talbot. He may not have as much upside, but he also doesn't come with risk. An extra mil on the cap wouldn't have hurt our chances with landing Samsonov either.

Talbot is better than Gustavsson, who they traded, but hardly someone to be upset about not acquiring. Talbot is a solid regressing goaltender.

I think the Leafs can do much better, and probably cheaper cap hit wise.

Ottawa upgraded from Murray to Talbots.

One has had 7 injuries last three concussions the other is pretty solid.

The problem with duba s is his ego. He thinks what he is doing is succeeding instead of realizing changes have to be made. Thank gif this will be his last year

Talbot has three advantages over Murray.

1. Shorter contract
2. Cheaper contract
3. He's been more durable.

As @SprDaVE has suggested, he's regressing, and likely won't look very good this year. I don't think this was ever our answer.

as someone who watched him in a orange jersey due to location i can tell you talbot comes with many risks he was stellar a couple seasons in edmonton after he was traded from the rags. then his last 2 or 3 seasons he forgot how to make a save. but it seems he got it figured out with the wild. (always known as a defensive and stingy team) but the risks are there just a few years prior

He was a VERY special person in the Ottawa areas...and more and more are being exposed hence hence the article published caused a lot of ruckuses but also not surprising to people inside the hockey world tbh.

Realistically what does Copp sign for.

I bet a Tavares - Copp - Nylander would be a really effective second line and allows Tavares to focus on offense.

Do we take a shot at Oskar Lindblom on a 1 year deal? He's put together some good seasons but not much recently for obvious reasons.

Also, not sure why, but I feel like Strome may be a good candidate for Tavares LW.
