The last thing we should be doing is allocating more money to forwards and less on defense. We want to attract a goalie in free agency, remember?
With or without muzzin in the line up team D was never the issue in Toronto last year. It was depth scoring in timely spots and goaltending that let them down in the end.

They arent rearranging the deck chairs. They realize their number 2 dman is slowing down and is on the wrong side of 30 and they need to keep the younger more important players like palat etc
Our gm doesnt realize our number 2 center is slowing down and is on the wring side of 30 and we lose sandin mikeyev and eventually bunting.

I’m sure our GM can see JT has lost a step. He has an NMC though so whats he really gonna do about it?

It will help if the Leafs work on creating more offense for their 4th line.

Blackwell: 3 points in almost 20 games and 2 in 7 for the playoffs.
Clifford: 3 points in 23 games.
Spezza: 25 points in 71 games and 1 in 5 for the playoffs. (with PP time)
Simmonds: 16 points in 76 games.

And various others who just didn't put up much either.

We need to get a lot more offense out of that 4th line, especially when they are not providing any other value.

Wholeheartedly agree with that.

Yeah I don’t mean anything in regards to leaks. Wish I could explain it better, there’s well spoken and there is saying nothing really. I don’t care for an explanation on why Mrazek was signed and the whole spiel about belief again. Then a somewhat no nonsense stance when it comes to Sandin.

I don’t know, maybe it’s just me and the overall frustration at this point I feel as a fan.
Yeah thats fair. I think the belief comment is more playing with the market. The last thing you want to do is give an impression like i'm done with this group as the media will run away with that kind of info.

Coyotes will be going for Connor Bedard next year. Coyotes could be a scary team in the future
Where are they getting the money. After his elc in three years he will want 15-18 million depending in the cap. They will always be an nhl development team whi gets rid of stars when they have to be paid. The only way he would stay there is if they relocate

Probably a fair assumption he’s on the 10 team no trade.
We can waive him right. They can pick him up if we waive him

So I get the Murray thing (to a degree) from the Leafs pov. Has a background with the front office, could be the B in an A-B tandem. But there's absolutely no way they can make that cap work unless he's 50% retained AND likely Mrazek gets pushed off the team

Seems more likely they'd circle to him after a buyout with a new, cheaper contract. But have a hard time seeing them make a trade work.
