Hes a 4 C with Limited upside. Maybe he becomes a 3c one day but I doubt it. Sandin will be a top 4d more then likely in a year or two. You don't trade a potential 4d for a 4c with a moderate chance to be a 3c.
Always loved him, looks like with an increase in responsibility he has also been putting up some pretty great even strength/5 on 5 numbers the last couple years. Also a great penalty killer.Seeing Connor Brown pop up on trade lists... I'd love to see him back. That's a player that would go through a brick wall.

Wonder if the leafs circle back at the TDL as if Ottawa retains and the leafs are accuting cap space you could get it down to like a 1 million dollar cap hit
What if we swap Mrazek with Driedger? Mrazek makes 3.8M per and Driedger makes 3.5M both for the next 2 years. Swap struggling goalies?
Five years left @ $5.9M. Can't see it.What about Philipp Grubauer as the Leafs' 2022-23 starter?
You think he would produce less than Engvall here? Idk I would imagine on the leafs third line (or 2nd if they shift him or Willy to LW) he would put up far more than 20 points. Plus he wasn't on Ottawa top PP unit and scored 9/39 points on the PP which isn't much. He is also an excellent defensive player with some pretty crazy defensive stats while in Toronto from what I recall.Good player, but to pay him $3.5 million, to put up 25-30 points here isn't worth it. He isn't going to get 20 minutes a game, and top power play time, like he does in Ottawa.
I'd love to see what Keefe could do with him because I think he could fit him in a better role than Babcock could.
I wonder if the Leafs could take on Colin White to buy him out for the Sens in a Connor Brown trade. Colin Whites buyout is until 2028 but only 875k per. The 3rd year of the buyout is actually a cap saving year. Seems unlikely for a lot of reasons but... could be a shrewd move.

He can play on the 1st line with 16 and 34 as a bit smaller HymanGood player, but to pay him $3.5 million, to put up 25-30 points here isn't worth it. He isn't going to get 20 minutes a game, and top power play time, like he does in Ottawa.

Ya agreed Babcock using him purely defensively wasnt great for him game. Though I guess his production rate didn't really decrease much in Toronto, it was his ice time that plummeted. Guys like him are infectious energy wise and evidently many of the younger leafs/Marlies hung out at his house so is well liked.
Maybe if Ottawa retains a bunch on Brown as I can't see the leafs committed to dead cap for the next few years even if it is 875k
Fiala for Brock Faber and a 1st. That would be a Sandin and 1st equivelant
