Yeah Samsonov was a guy i really wanted. I was sure the Caps wanted to keep him since they just traded Vanecek but i guess not. He's young and has upside. Wouldn't be a bad kick at the can.

I’m all on board with Samsonov and paid him with a tandem. So much talent there and I think he’ll figure it out.

Some people here dont realise than at the same age, Campbell was a okay back up in a bad team who become leafs starter during the season...

Murray hes on NHL since hes 21, hes starter since hes 22... yes he had some up and down last couple of years but if it would not be the case, he would not be available.

Leafs option better than Murray, kuemper and gibson are the 2 only one... i dont think Campbell is a better goalie ( just a goalie playing in a better team)... both had injuries issues...so if torontto an get Murray at a lower price than Campbell and get something who can help the team with, why he should be a worst idea than resign Campbell too much and too long?

If they are closing the door on Campbell (which i think we will learn to regret) I hope they go after Blackwood, the kid has MAJOR upside, sure it might not work out but if he puts it together thats a top 10 goalie right there.

Some vet for #1 and run Blackwood as a 1b

The market is really bad for him so probably not. I think Buffalo could easily throw him that contract. I could see the Leafs offering what they were offering to Campbell. 2.75M cap hit for 2 years? Seems like a lot for a sub .905% goaltender, but you're paying for upside.

Samsonov didn't have that good of a year, so it's worth tempering expectations. Just look at his stats even at the AHL level and it's really not good. The only good year was his rookie season.

Maybe but he's waiver exempt. Depth is important and Anderson is 41 years old.

Samsonov wasn't qualified? Whoa that's wild. I assumed Washington was going to keep him when they decided to move on from Vanecek. I guess that means Keumper to Washington is likely then considering the rumours.

I'd be down for signing Samsonov and getting a haul from Ottawa for Murray retained. It could completely blow up in our face as it's very risky, but there's upside there for sure.

Murray won't offer any solutions, he's as much of an injury liability and risk that Mrazek was, plus his numbers have been awful for awhile now. I'm not sold on him even being a back-up goaltending option, completely unreliable in the net and can't stay healthy. No thanks, pass for me, not worth the risk for zero benefit.
