Any combination of Talbot, Reimer and Murray (50% retained) would look fine for me as platoon partners.

Campbell scares me and I really don't want to have to outbid Edmonton for him. I'm not confident enough to go big dollars for him, rather take shorter commitments for now.

Darcy Kuemper should 100% be the target however, providing he gets too expensive or signs elsewhere, the best option

Trade Justin Holl for Antti Raanta (With TonyD gone, Carolina can use a RHD)
Trade [Enter prospect here] for James Reimer

- Both have one year remaining. A lot of flexibility.
- They combine for 4.25M per year. This is less than what it would take to sign Jack Campbell back alone
- Both are good performers. Both are positive in regards to GSAA (29th & 18th in the league) and GSAx (15th & 19th in the league)

Anthony Stolarz is another guy I would look into the cost of.

Scott Wedgewood a guy I would try and sign if we are able to get a true starter type.

Wedgewood re-signed with Dallas. 2 x 1M. A similar goaltender is Eric Comrie, probably could get him for the same price tag.

thought this was interesting. I still don't know if I really want him, but I wonder if there is something here that could be unlocked. Either finding a way to get his mentality the same home/road or literally just using him at home the vast majority of the time in a platoon.

Murray is a home fighter yeah. He tends to crumbla unda presha as a visitor. He has leader qualities from what I've read. Or was it some other goalie. I think it was murray. Then again, the retired hutton was a vocal, leader guy too, but him at goal itself.... mann he was a small loser.

Hmm where have we heard that before.... (cue twilight zone music)

"Leafs general manager Kyle Dubas said Wednesday he's prepared to bank on Mrazek bouncing back to his career averages next season."
Dubas had to say that in order to dump Mrazek. Blackwood is also 5 years younger so I get why the Devils wouldn't want to move on from him just yet.

Leafs and Dubas pretty much already knew it was time to move on from Mrazek.

The Blackhawks are just torching assets holy f***

They're about to lose 4 of their top 6 for 3 firsts 2 second and a third

Here's my poorly thought out attempt at getting a goalie.

Bobrovsky (50% retained), Weegar

for

Holl, prospect/pick.

That saves FLA roughly $5.5ish million next season, and it saves them $13 million over the life of the bobrovsky contract compared to a buyout, and Weegar is a pending UFA. Bobrovsky even at 50% retained has little value.

In addition to the cap space, they get a D they can plug right in, plus a prospect and/or a pick.

The Leafs get a #1G, an upgrade on the matchup RD, and they have cap room left to manoeuvre - especially if they move Kerfoot.

The mechanics seem to make sense but I have a hard time trusting Bobrosvky. He is really inconsistent.

In all fairness, after these playoffs I don't actually see a consistent NHL goalie anywhere. Vasi was torched a few times, as was Kuemper, even Shesterkin at times.

The upside is that it only cost someone who really has no defined role going forward. Weegar would immediately be our matchup RD, and just the improvement in D alone should help out Bob.....

I do like Weegar quite a bit. If he’s at all available I’d be all over it.

Teams can get fined and penalized for cap evasion. The league has rules about the nature of lineups for preseason for goodness sakes. What Chicago seems to be doing is intentionally dismantling any chance of having a competitive team in the next several seasons. I'm surprised that the league is okay with this.

Eklund says that Leafs and Devils are talking Nylander. LOL

Why is Kerfoot trending on Twitter?
Things like that usually happen if another player becomes available or something then a lot of people on twitter are doing trade proposals. Idk if this is the reason but Strome is gonna become a FA officially now so maybe people are saying move Kerfoot and sign Strome or whatever.

Happens with Marner and Nylander quite a bit on there.
