Sometime I wonder do some here really know what's the Leafs need?
1. To me, they need a legitimate No.1 Goalie in net, as having someone like that masks a lot of the problems.
2. They need a huge mentality, culture and system change. It shows that whatever they have been doing, thinking....ain't working when it comes to playoffs. From Keefe and company, to our top guys not scoring when it matters the most, to depth guys just pretty much skating around without making impacts. It really comes down to the simple thing like do each of them(MGT, Coach, and players) know what they need to do and what it takes to win. Bc I have the impression that they all collectively think it was luck and an unlucky bounces, or refs. Over the past few seasons, they either blame it on opposing goalies, or injuries or being unlucky or refs. I don't think TB is thinking if only Point is playing they would have won the Cup or how Avs just dealt with injuries after injuries and still managed to win the Cup. Do the Leafs understand that as long as you win the Cup, nobody would care how many goals, assists or whatever you got in the playoffs.
3. The tops guys need to be better, like a lot better and Keefe better figure out a way to play the Big 4 on 3 different lines to spread the offence. If AM and MM needs to split up and their personal stats drop but the team wins, let that be. IF JT is better off cycling and play a slower game, get him players that can do that and let Willie be on another line.
